So I finally came to the conclusion that kelp meal is not available in where I live. Is it okay if I avoid kelp meal and use kelp extract power as a foliar spray? Will I be facing deficiencies if I avoid kelp meal from the soil mix? Are there any alternative to kelp meal?
So i’m mixing coots into my 4x4 right after I can confirm ratios. I’m worried about mixing it incorrectly, could you or anyone give me a hand with the ratios for a 4x4 bed? Going to use a touch more aeration than compost.
Before committing to a large raised bed, I would test your new soil mix (whatever it winds up being) in smaller pots first. A large raised bed is a commitment. There are a lot of other factors related to environment that require close consideration prior to making that commitment. And to start, you can't figure out the base soil volume required to fill a bed without also knowing the depth of the bed. 4x4x?.
