Bong to dag rib

710, the day devoted to all things dabbing is here, and as such you were probably wanting to do some dabs today. There’s only one problem: you don’t have a dab rig. I’m here to tell you that it’s okay. You can still make a pretty sweet dab rig out of the bong you have.

First, You Would Need an Adapter

The most important component of turning your bong into a dab rig is the bong adapter. An adapter is a nifty little accessory that can be used for a number of things such as, converting your bong’s joint size, turning a dab rig into a bong, and of course turning a bong into a dab rig!

First make sure that you get the right type of adapter. For turning a bong into a dab rig you would need an adapter that converts your bong’s joint from female to male. For this, you will need a male to male adapter.

Next, you need to make sure that you have the right size. Downstems are typically one of two sizes: 14.5mm and 18.8mm. If you don’t know the size, you can easily figure it out. If your joint is the same width as your pinkie finger, then it is 14.5mm. If your joint is closer to the size of a dime, then it is 18.8mm.

Now, You Need a Nail!

The next thing you will need is a concentrate nail. Here you have a number of options. First you want to make sure that you get a nail that matches the size of the adapter. If you got a male to male 14.5mm adapter, like this one, then you need to get a 14.5mm nail. If you got a 14.5mm male to 18.8mm adapter, then you would need an 18.8mm nail.

Now, you’re wondering what type of nail to get. Nails come in quartz, ceramic, or titanium. There are pros and cons for each type. Some people prefer titanium because it’s good and sturdy, but you have to season it well before using it, or your dab will have a funky taste. Ceramic nails are medical grade, so they are safer to use than titanium, however, they take a lot longer to heat. Titanium nails heat quickly, but they are not medical grade, hence one of the reasons you have to season them first. Quartz nails heat the quickest, but they can also break the easiest. Whichever one you choose depends on your personal preference.

Lastly, Make Sure You Have the Tools You Need!

You should of course make sure that you have all of the necessary tools to dab, such as a dabber, and a dish for your concentrates. It’s always better to be prepared!

That’s all you need to turn your favorite bong into a dab rig. Happy 710!
