Never cans (bad idea with paint and aluminum and all that crap) but apples? Hell yes. I loved a good apple pipe. A little tip to make them better is cut off a small thin chunk or two from the apple and strategically place them within the airway to avoid scooby snacks.
I was really young maybe a Freshman in Junior College in 2004. Omg. I totally used a Red Apple at first, and I think I use a Coca-Cola Classic aluminum can too. Easiest way to start getting into smoking weed I used to just sit in my Backyard on our like porch thingie and I would just be quiet of course so the neighbors won't hear me lol hahaha. I think I use to take sneaky peeks at GrassCity at that age too y'all. Thanks you guys helped me out a ton back then but I was just a stalker lurker haha. I would poke a V through the stem, I think I used an empty ballpoint pen that was blue my Mother has in her room, of the Red apple and make another poke through the side like one-third from the top (1/3) from the right side and put the little fingertipped weed on top and I would just light the weed with a lighter and inhale. For the can I would just hold it to the left side make a ben and sprinkle the fingertipped weed on top obviously there like one or two or three holes maybe I used a fork haha lol and I would just smoke out of the mouthhole like anywhichway I think I smoked it from the side facing me obviously. Ahh good times y'all!!!!
