My boyfriend and I smoke dabs off a HighFive e-nail at 675. There is this white build up that returns about 2 after we clean it. Every single time. We flush it with hot water, soak overnight in alcohol, then add salt, shake it up super well, then flush again with hot water. Somehow it's never enough. Also, whenever we hit our dabs there is this white sticky powder looking stuff that pulls through the mouth piece and most times sticks to our teeth/lips. Really concerned and confused.
The white cloudy stuff on the glass is just hard water deposits and calcium build up. Something like a CLR will remove that. I prefer to use filtered or bottled water in my pieces to prevent that. My well water destroys glass. As for the weird sticky stuff, that's not dab material making it all the way through is it?
Is that hard water stains? If you have hard water it tends to leave calcium buildup. Same thing happens in the dishwasher. White powdery stains. Not sure what that glob is though. Maybe just a combination of things, water, dab, etc. Don't know for sure though.
So I think you are referring to the white "cloudy" stuff on the glass. I mean the thick white stuff on the perc in the middle. The flower. Inside the red circle is the build up I'm talking about. Inside the blue circle is what we believe it could be from at this point. There's some build up in that perc we can't ever get out. And my theory is it's breaking up as we hit it, and coming through the rest of the pipe. It's almost like when a tissue gets wet and breaks apart. We've tried everything to get that build up out of the perc and it's just not unsticking from the glass.
looks like dab material to me also. imho 675 is pretty hot, but ive been on a bubble hash kick for awhile, which = better @ lower temps then shatter, distillate or most oils. got the Peak for most other stuff
