no offense i like zippos just as much as the next guy, in fact i own a bob marley one. But zippos absolutely RUIN THE TASTE OF BONGS. They have so much fuel coming off the flame that you taste it when you hit the bong.

Zippos are cool lighters but not for smoking. First of all, the smell and the taste of the fluid is harsh. Second, the original zippo lighter is hard to drag into bowls. There's a modified one with a hole in the middle of metal that surrounds the wick so you can point it sideways and drag down, but it still tastes worse than a bic.
bics and crack lighter i used to have a zippo but it ran out of fluid but i keep it just for the memories of using it
Solar hits, It's always sunny as hell down here! and I can easily light my billy through my window in my room. Though if its dark then I use bic + bee-line hemp
For those complaining about Zippo taste, try their black can Premium Fuel. It's made differently specifically so it will have less taste. It's made to satisfy cigar and pipe snobs, so it's pretty effective at reducing taste to pretty much unnoticeable. For pipes, Zippo makes pipe lighters. If you have a Zippo already, you can send it in for a free pipe conversion. I thought they took the old one generally, but when they did it for me, they let me keep my old insert and just sent a new pipe insert. They do this for free, just ship it to the repair dept with a note that you'd like a pipe conversion (don't forget to run out the fuel and let it evaporate). Love this thing... way easier to hit a pipe/bong than a bic, and with the premium fuel, no taste.
Regular bic.. I might buy some hemp wick seems kinda wacky to me but I hear lots of hype about it. I bought a zippo and some fluid awhile ago for a reason that I do not know. I tried it one time to light a bowl (out of a cheap bowl just incase it tasted bad) and it tasted AWFUL. I had to throw the bowl out because it smelled like lighter fluid. About to give it to somebody or something. But 99% of the time just a regular ol' bic.
yeah I have a zippo too and its terrible for bowls, i couldn't even light it one time because the flame does annoying things, its good for sparking joints though, more reliable then bic for that, but it ran out of flint and I haven't got a chance to buy more, so I just use the regular ol bic too, always white though, getting sick of fucking white bics, i never buy bics i always get drunk and end up going home with one whats not mine, always ALWAYS white, i can't remember the last time i had a bic what wasn't white ffs omfg your profile pic i need to squeeze them, but true that
