I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, so apologies in advance, but I've heard some conflicting advice on this, so -- what's the best thing to use as a bowl for a homemade piece if you don't have a socket? I'm talking about around-the-house stuff. I've heard of people using foil, but I think aluminum has a really harsh taste, so I'm reluctant to do that. Anything else you guys know of that most people would have laying around already?
If you can find an empty glass nail polish bottle yo can drill the bottom out of them, that would work.
Brass casings from bullets if you got any of those. A nice .40 will do the trick. Pop out the firing pin with a ice pick and boom, bowl.
is heated brass safe though? also, what about powder residue, can you wash it all off or will there still be some left over?
Power comes off with a toothbrush. And i googled it, and it said brass doesn't give off any gases when heated. But that's if you want to trust the internet.

EUREKA!! I have found THEE BEST ghetto bowl! It is the common "briarwood" tobacco pipe that gramps used to use to get lip, gum, and tongue cancer) Get 'em used at the Lords' Cannabis Salvation Army. (look for long stems; cracks and holes are okay). Those are great smokers!!!! I was lucky: Grampa Sher kept almost all of his wooden briarwood bowls - (it appears that) he never tossed them out (bless his scroogy English heart and stern Greatly Depressing Era Conservativism). They are light wood - easy to carry and toke and light - and BEST OF ALL they hold a ton of bud PLUS they keep the fire going. I disconnect the mouthpiece (they are usually all gnawed to shit anyway - Gramps did have a gnarly set of canine incisors) - so therefore only the briarwood bowls with longer stems (and BIG PHAT BOWLS) make good tokers. USED PIPES ARE CHEAP: $1-$2. Clean them with rubbing alcohol (and dump that poisonous shit out).
what bout a small pastery funnel they work well or a salt shaker top attached to a soda can with a bic pen tube attached
Couple bucks at home depot will get you a "hose barb adapter". I like the 1/3 inch or 3/8 for personal size hits that will get you baked immediately. You can pretty much get any size you want but of course the price goes up pretty quick too. Works amazing with a lil screen or rock to block the hole so your ish doesn't pulled through.
If you know anyone who plays the trumpet or any brass instruments you can try to get a mouthpiece off them. they work great as a down-stem for smaller bubblers. Just wash that shit out.
Just today, I went to my local hardware store and went into the plumbing section and found this "adapter", it was perfect!
