Hey, I recently purchased this rig from my friend. I know it's a triple Klein recycler, it's 10", and it has a 14mm female. Other than that, I know it over three years old and that seems to be the extent of my knowledge. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything else about this piece. Thanks!
I picked up an aqua/teal accented version of the same style from a smoke shop in Reno. They were on sale and stacked haphazardly in a box off to the side of the back display rack, filled with this same model with a variety of unique defects indicating that they were hand crafted from a series of molds. I did my own research back then and found it was a faithful knockoff of a highly marketed 'hydra recycler' which sold in limited stock and failed to return due to the unique characteristics, namely hazards, of this rig's make. The owner only had the best 4 of these rigs on display on the top shelf which is initially what caught my eye. I asked for blue and he revealed the box. I of course asked why they were discarded so carelessly in a box, only to find out, "It's custom stone glass". Looks to me like a private glass smith enthusiast close to the nevada/california border was practicing with stone glass for the first time, or perhaps struggled with mending such thick pieces of glass. I sold my rig off to friends since I was moving on to e-rigs and the like. They reported back to me months later that minors had gotten their hands on it and were caught by cops who wanted to destroy the 'personal possession' they'd reportedly rather not admit to stealing. The whole family was elated to report to me despite the moral dilemmas that, "the bong survived two attempts at being smashed before breaking on the third! It pissed the cops off so bad!" lol. If I'd have known better back then, I'd have hung onto the rig as a collector or custom enthusiast piece. And we haven't seen more of this model because they'd been adapted to have a bell replacing the lower 'inverted diamond' peculation well, in order to avoid the water pressure issues which would lead to inhaling splashes of water or simply over-filling the misleadingly designed smoke chamber with too much smoke leading to a black out on inhaling long or 'concentrated' rips. 3D scan your piece and upload it to an online directory if you get the chance! Someone can work out new molds to resurrect this, I'm sure.
