What is your car history?

Discussion in 'Planes, Trains & Automobiles' started by AsthmaticStoner, Dec 18, 2015.

  1. First car was a 70 Mustang 302, adopted from my midlife crisis dad. I put 150K miles on it and sold it for 6x what he bought it for new in 1969. Thanks to the Mary Tyler Moore Show I went from uber cool to perpetually embarrassed in my high school. At least mine was black not white.

  2. First- and only car thus far is a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium 50th Anni Edition.
Have modded it quite a lot, only 25k miles on it total (bought at 8k). Just going to ride it till it dies.

  3. Two of the same car. A 92 Integra RS black on black. After that was a 91 Integra RS black on black.

First one got a shitty paint job and a decent stereo. It also had a handful of suspension parts.

    GEDC1561.JPG
Current one is still a bit of a project. Much of the old parts, but more. Auto to maual, OBD0 to OBD1.

  4. 1/ Ford Fiesta 1.6 Sports Injection
    2/ VW Polo 1.4
    3/ BMW 135i 3.0 M Sports Competition Package.

It was emotional letting 1 & 2 go but a feeling forgotten when you feel 450nm of torque running through your balls.

  5. In a word?
    Dull.

  6. 1st car was 1984 VW rabbit
    2nd 1991 Dodge shadow
    3rd 2004 Ford focus w/ manual transmission
4th Chevy Malibu unsure of year. Pretty sure 90's model.
5th and current is 2010 Taurus SEL

  7. Only one actually - Same one I've got now.
I actually got drunk as fuck and committed some "vehicular malicious damage" when I was younger.
Went to court and got told I had a "disdain for the driving community" and was banned from even getting my Learners license until I was 21.
    I turned 21 in 2002.
I kind of went ages without a car, was used to not having one...then when our child was on the way, we were thinking it would make a lot of things easier.
In 2015 we bought a second hand 2008 Holden Omega sportswagon.
Somewhat reliable and doesn't guzzle fuel for it's size.
Been keeping it maintained and it's yeah, the occasional fix required but nothing horrendous. Got some power.
Looks like the one int he pictures (the side shot is my actual vehicle), and added the badge in case anyone didn't know what these were, as they were made in Australia for some time. 70126193_2415618222048944_6885847781202722816_n.jpg 92172459GM.jpg 2008-HOLDEN-COMMODORE-used-1323-10824-1.jpg

Gave the ranger to my step son, bought a 2005 Ford F150, the. Upgraded the wife to a 2015 GMC Acadia.

My old man let me drive his 1992 Ford Courier during my teen years.
When I was 20 I bought a Toyota Yaris from a mate, which I decided very quickly wasn't cool enough.
Because I was an idiot and making good money, I bought a 1983 Land Rover 90. In fucking London.
I mostly rode my bicycle. Because I lived in fucking London.

When I settled down for a while in northern Australia I drove a bright yellow 1987 Landcruiser BJ73, kitted for off-road and I'm still in love with Lemon Tart, as she was affectionally known as. I sold her when I left to go travelling and I still think about her to this day.

While travelling, my wife and I lived for about ten months in a Mazda Bongo-turned-Camper Van.

When the Mrs. and I returned from travelling I picked up a #vanlife Ford Econovan to circumnavigate Australia. It was a piece of shit and almost cost me my marriage. Not really. Kind of really.

And now I'm back to a Landcruiser. 60. Because I'm a family man.
