what are the advantages to more expensive bongs

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by lanman, Jul 6, 2010.

  1. True, and also remember the entire purpose of putting more shit inline(percs, precoolers, water, ice, etc.) is to help make the hit that much smoother, and therefore you're able to take in a bigger hit, thus taking in even more THC than you would without these additional inline benefits.

  2. Advantages.
    -Longer Life Span
-is able to be sold again
    -Glass on glass joints
    -Solid and tight construction
    -Can be worked/customized
-Ashcatchers/precoolers can be used.(yes i'm aware there are probably acrylic ashcatchers)
    -Fresh taste if cleaned properly
    -Percs and diffusion
    -Glass blowing is a skill..plastic molding..isn't really..
    -Glass has a sheen.
-Can handle large changes in temperature
^ IMO these are advantages of expensive glass bongs.
not looking for a debate just droppin my opinion what i know.

  3. you can get glass bongs 50-100$ that work just as well and 150-200$

and would give you all these features

  4. Yes that is true but for those prices the glass might be thin but any glass is better than plastic:smoke::hello:

  5. for the most part yes, although worked will be more expensive depending on who created/collab'd the tube itself.
i'm just answering the OP's question. Not saying there aren't cheap priced quality bongs cause there are.

There are just something things that can be done with glass that can't be done with acrylic.

  6. other than the fact that the quality of the piece is much better, you also get much smoother rips, better diffusion/percolation, and all that jazz

also, really high end glass is more than just a vessel for smoking. It's a work of art, and just like any good art, you can admire it and appreciate all the work that went into it. Then, after admiring your new art piece, take a phat rip and get baked :bongin:

  7. I have smoked from expensive bongs, and home made bongs. I think that expensive glass bongs are obviously nicer to smoke out of, but they are not worth the $ in my opinion. I get just as stoned from a home made bong as I do from Luke Wilson diffused bong.

I think a lot of people spend a shitload of $$ on bongs then realize this same thing, but dont want to admit it because they have invested so much $. So then they all the sudden become a art collector. LOL

In the end its what is in your budget. Dont save up for 2 months for a bong man. If it takes u that long to save that amouint of $$ then u could obviously spend it on more important things. IMO at least. :D
