I've never made a homemade bong before and now that I'm a poor college student I figured it would be a fun arts and crafts project. I made it four days ago and design-wise I think its pretty sick, considering its my first one. Its a double chamber with a perc. Any way, its been days so obviously the glue is dry. The only thing is ive tried to put water in it just to see how the perc works and shit except the normal air I breath thru tastes like shit. Its disgusting. I want to smoke out of it cuz I'm proud of it but I'm afraid that there's some bad particles or something so I haven't smoked out of it yet. Anyone know why it tastes like straight ass? I used various plastic bottle parts, duct tape, and "krazy" glue. Thanks!!!
You'll still be able to taste/smell the glue, even after it dries. That's just the way stinky rubbers/plastics are. As long as none of the glue (or other plastics, metals, wood, etc.) is getting hot and burning, then it should be safe to use.
It's fine as long as you don't burn the glue. And make sure you didn't use a pen tube for the bowl. Those things have plenty of chemicals that cause nerve damage.
Dude for a cheap bong I always suggest a SobeBong. Mine are all glass/glass and require no glue, etc. that could be bad for me (I never trust plastic too close to a flame/glue). Haha thanks. Ive made several GB's and waterfalls before and I am a big fan. This is my first legitimate bong. I can gauntee that the flames will not touch or burn the glue, its just kinda concerning cuz the "dry runs" I take taste like shit haha.
