I've been into building homemade bongs for 5 years... Nothing has changed but the reasons... I enjoy building things, especially things that I get to use... even more so if they work well and look amazing... If you have any crazy homemade bong ideas, please, throw them out for us. Pictures are appreciated, but don't think you need them! If you can only express you're bongs in words that works just as well. When I was 14, just starting into my career of building toking tools, I became fond of the mini tobasco jars and Mini-mag lights. They're an all in one perfect tool. Mini Mag lights, when gutted are perfect downstems for a bong, or even just a simple straight pipe. Forget socket bowls, use a solid one peice metal pipe! Mini tabasco jars are perfect for tiny bowls or pipes, being solid glass, they work well! With a torch lighter you can heat the bottom enough to cave it in and poke holes through the molten glass, or completely remove the bottom to make a bowl for a bong. Its simply amusing to have a tiny pipe (Literally, about 1.25 inches!) and just be able to toke away almost unnoticed.
Currently Ive got one finished and one thats a work in progress. Thor (the finished one) And this one (which I have yet to start) will be dubbed "The Goblet of Fire" I think its a bookend. Grabbed it for free at a yard sale. Might even make it into a hookah.
