Trying to Refill my Butane Torch But It Only Seems To Work With One Type of Butane

  1. Hey guys I'm trying to refill my butane torch so I can take some more tabs but it only seems to be properly filling up with 1 type of butane

The yellow cans of Neon Universal Lighter fluid work great to refill my torch however I bought some other butane called like Neon 5X Fluid and I thought it'd be the same but when I go to re-fill it

its like none of the fluid goes into the torch

check out this short YouTube video I made
you can see the 5x dont work
    but the cheaper stuff does

    wtf?

  3. Yeah man I agree

Just any idea's on why the other one doesn't work? like do you think the cans are defective or something

I asked at a smoke shop and the guy said the gas is different

  4. Here is my 2 cents, been using butane torches to light bowls for a few years.

I've been using butane torches regularly for some time and its often a crapshoot mate.

I've had a ronson torch that would not take the ronson refill without spraying cold butane everywhere.

The very next bottle of ronson butane I bought fit and filled perfectly, same torch, same refill size and model.

I've had other brands of butane either fit secure or spray everywhere, and like I said, after years of it I basically gave it up as a crapshoot.

Whenever I'm having issues with refills, I've found that holding both refill bottle and torch flat is the best bet, you will get some sprayback, but usually not as much as upside down, and the torch will generally fill 2/3 or more (since you will get some air be sure to burp the torch after until you see the butane mist come out, being careful it dose not spray you in the eyes)

It sucks, but at least it keeps the torch filled and better than just chucking a bottle of perfectly good C4H10.

Maybe someone smarter than I has figured out a better way, but thats what works for me whenever I get a janky refill bottle.
