I tried using a bong outside the water froze like instantly, 18 degrees really feels like 8 Epic fail plus lighter wouldn’t work
It’s weird because last night it worked with fridge temp water but didn’t freeze, now guess the temperature is way too cold for that . Warm water may last a little longer before freezing.. Today instantly frozen…. Under the perc still has a water chunk I may bring it inside just to clean it out . Blunts are so much weaker sucks to be stuck with them til weather warms up , I need new lighters too for the bong bowl . My clippers flint is dying and sounds too hard to replace….
Now it’s 10 degrees going down to 2 , maybe better off passing too cold outside. And glass bongs are impossible, in This weather .
My bong don't freeze when I smoke in 18 degrees F. Which ain't often. The only time I ever saw water freeze instantly was way below zero. @Ultramaxx Are you leaving it outside?
Fill bong with any cheap clear booze. Store grade Vodka will do fine. it's got enough Alcohol to just get thick down to well below 0 F. (-18C) Vodka freezes at -16 F. I'm not saying your face won't stick to the glass but the vodka won't freeze. We keep the Martini Vodka in the freezer You'll want to empty and store the vodka in a sealed container so the alcohol doesn't evaporate over time and no you won't get drunk taking bong hits through Vodka. It was 1973 and the Oil crisis was in full swing and getting gasoline was near impossible. 3 gallon limits, Odd / Even gas days. I'll admit to putting a jeep can or two of Mogas into my 55 Chevy and retarding the timing to about 10-15 behind and disconnecting the vac advance. As long as you babied it leaving a stop it wouldn't ping to bad. Holy Crap I haven't thought of that in a very long time. I think the stuff is about 60 octane. Works best in low compression engines like the Model T. 4 to 1. 66 cents a gallon even for Premium was outrageous. Regular was 23.9 the year I starting driving at the local stations. As low as 18 cents near the refineries. BNW
I didn't get back from over yonder till '75. I missed the odd/even days. But I do remember the good ol dayz of yesteryear. When $10 filled the tank on my '68 Caprice. Then the gas wars. The gas station would put a sandwich board sign out on the curb advertising 1 cent lower than the station across the street. The the station across the street would put a sandwich board sign advertising one cent lower than that. They'd go back and forth till you were paying 14-19 cents a gallon. Sure could use another gas war like that now.
K I wonder does Bong water freeze at 22 degrees? Hot water worked ,I’m not sure how much colder it would work though.
I figured out just bringing the bong indoors to keep warm makes it so I can use cold water outdoors and not freeze.
It's not a good idea to inhale alcohol fumes, please don't do that, it's bad for your lungs. And I agree with others have said, use warm water. If you're out there for just a few minutes, it shouldn't freeze in 18 degree weather. But forget it if any colder.
A suggestion... a terp pen... and you can still use it with a bong if you want , no need for a lighter.. Great little tool
Here I am thinking of the cold, my first thought was fuck that I will sit in my truck and get high . Then I am thinking I have worked outside most my life , just dress for it . Next thought is fuck I have smoked weed/joints in 10 or 20 below weather . As I am reaching for pipe to refill it (because I am really stoned) and thinking about cold weather, I say to myself fuck I own a or The Mighty portable Vaporizer . You can pretty much put weed with crumble and kief in the Mighty and it also warms your hands.
