The Steamcrusher: Ultimate homemade steamroller

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by gizmoguy, Nov 23, 2009.

  1. Steamrollers are renowned for being very harsh on the lungs/throat, but also for getting you very high, very fast. I decided to build my own homemade ghetto steamroller.

    It came to me in a dream (well actually it came as I was falling asleep but it sounds more dramatic:p)...

    This design gives nearly 4 litres of smoke capacity. For reference an average males maximum lung capacity is 6L and a female's is 4.7L (taken from Wikipedia), and most bongs are under a litre, so as you can see this is a hell of a lot of milk. This, combined with the high carb airflow means a lot of smoke going into your lungs VERY fast. Prepare for one helluva ride. :D

    Materials:

    • 2x 2 litre soda/pop bottle (Coke/Pepsi/Dr. P/whatever).
    • Some form of bowl and downstem (improvise with foil and a pen, or use a 'proper' one from an acrylic bong).
    • Some form of adhesive tape. Should be thick and able to make a good seal.
    • The sticky green happy-buds (to christen and test with).
    Tools:

    • Some form of hole-boring and hole-widening tool (electric drill is best but only with someone else to help hold the bottle, or a vice (kids, ask your parents before using power tools!)).

    Construction:

    1. Take your first bottle and remove the cap and the plastic bit that gets left on the neck. Dispose of these.
    2. A little more than halfway down the neck, mark a dot. Neck here refers to the area from the top of the bottle/neck and the large round extrusion before the neck widens to become the bottle.
    3. Bore a hole through the dot. The plastic here is actually quite thick, at least 2-3mm eye-balling it. Be careful and don't stab your hand.
    4. Try your downstem and see if it fits. It should fit tightly. If not, keep widening the hole slightly and re-testing until you have a tight fit.
    5. Cut the bottom of the bottle off, where the bottle body starts going in so it makes the bottle legs. This maximises capacity whilst making assembly easy.
    6. Get your second bottle and repeat steps 1 and 5 for this bottle.
    7. Put the bottles next to each other so that the open bases (widest parts, where you have cut the bases away).
    8. Duct/insulation/gaffer/whatever tape the bottles together. Go round several times, ensuring the bond is airtight and durable.
    9. Insert downstem and bowl into hole made in step 4.
    10. Done!
    You should end up with something a little like this:

    Code:
    [FONT=Courier New] \-/
     ||   __________
     ||  /     #    \
    |--|=      #     =|||
         \_____#____/[/FONT]

    N.B. The ASCII art isn't rendering properly, but if you put it in Notepad or something and set your font to Courier New or some other monospaced font, you'll see it.

    I sux at ASCII art. :p Use like an ordinary steamroller and prepare for blast-off!

    Comments?

  2. Sounds like a good idea, do you have a picture?
