I was going to put my opinion but I'm considering the mods. I really want to be here and love this place, with that I'm only going to state that this is a very, very unprofessional thread on so many levels.

But... As someone who doesn't have a bong, I observed what GC is selling from Weedstar and don't find a anything wrong with the tubes created by Ziggy, especially for the price. If he didn't come off as someone who didn't need the business from his responses, I wouldn't be conflicted with a problem and would probably purchase one of his bongs.

    El Brossidente's right:

With the way the thread was started, you'll only get negative feedback from this it. Mods, really, you should possibly re-construct the thread in the format a Mod sticky is: Closed and with positive promotions, as Ziggy's attempted here.

And man, chill, this community's great. It's just the users are territorial about their section and glass.

    My opinion for Ziggy:

I don't like carbholes. If you were to do more straight tubed, glass-on-glass, ROOR type bongs for a cheaper price and had some great bowls available you'd be one of the top selling glass producers on this site.

  2. Wow this weed star thing really blew up. If you dont like ws, stay out of ws threads, makes sense :smoke:

  3. I don't see how this thread is remotely "unprofessional".

    GC sells Weed Star bongs.
    Ziggi reps Weed Star bongs.
All he said in the original post was; "I'm interested in how you like your bong and if you have suggestions for improvement"

Unfortunately, too many people took that as an invitation to be downright disrespectful and immature just because they came into the thread already having a negative opinion.

If people would just be respectful with their criticisms and opinions, this thread would have turned out just fine.
I guess some people just aren't old enough to have learned how to have a mature discussion.

  4. I believe fix the ugly logo, change the ridiculous name, use better glass, stop using sweatshop labor, stop ripping of the artisitic element from other blowers are all examples of "suggestions for improvement", which is exactly what he asked for. His response to the first couple of posters to bring the negative aspects of his product to light (and there are a few) were called idiots by him. He is just as responsible for the hate in this thread as others.

He has also flat out admitted to copying patterns and designs of other reputable glass blowers.

    Ziggi,

i would rather not because of the "carb" on the tube. Unnecessary/annoying.

  6. The problem came when very few people stated those opinions in a respectful manner.

How do you expect to be treated respectfully if you aren't going to be respectful first?

Instead people came in here with a vendetta against this brand and started immediately acting rudely and immaturely, which is not the kind of behavior we expect out of our members.

    We're better than that here.

  7. If he were a troll he wouldn't be a GC business partner.

The "troll" shit is getting out of hand.
Disagreeing with someone doesn't make them a troll.

  8. Apparently before he was a GC business partner he was in fact banned for trolling. But I was only told that by another poster, and can't verify it.

  9. He wasn't banned for trolling.
As far as I am aware, it was a misunderstanding regarding advertising. As of late, he is a GC business partner and sells Weed Star glass on GC, and he is perfectly free to discuss his products here.

Calling him a "troll" is just plain silly, and might as well be trolling in itself.
I'm getting damned tired of how often the word "troll" is thrown around in situations where it doesn't actually mean anything. Just because someone posts something you don't agree with doesn't make them a troll.

  10. OK. But some people would consider spamming the board with advertising trollish behavior. I certainly do, although I have not called him a troll myself.

  11. Posting a thread about a product is not "spamming the board with advertising".
He made a thread regarding a product that he sells on GC, explicitly asking for suggestions on his work.

I don't see what about that would be "advertising".

This is a business first, and a forum second.
Feel free to express your opinions on weed star products, if you can do it in a respectful manner. But most of the posters so far have not been able to do that.

  12. Right. However, when he did it before and was banned, that was exhibiting trollish behavior, hence why some people might now refer to him as a troll. As in once a troll, always a troll. His abrasive personality and calling his potential future customer base idiots in the first page doesn't help with that.

I realize that the trolling doesn't apply to this particular thread, as he is now a business partner.

So by starting to do business with the city, he lost the title of "troll" and is unbanned and instantly became "Official GC Business Partner."

  14. Yes?

Because along with the title came a behaviour change, ie, this thread? If you think promoting your own products with videos of you on a website that sells them.... that's not quiet trolling.

I dare anyone throwing abuse at Ziggi to have the amount he gets thrown back at them, and not react. If I was Ziggi, I would spend my life yelling at the internet

  15. Lets all get high around the fire and play drums.

  16. I'm still not sure what the video of him at the CC acting like kind of a jackass in a wig and 80's blinds sunglasses has to do with weedstar bongs, making a better product, and everything else, but whatever. Obviously commerce gives him carte blanche.

  17. Before he was trolling because he was not a business partner, so it was considered wide spread advertising on the boards. Now that he has an official title, he can advertise because his stuff is sold here, so he is only linking back to GC's store about their products.

Thats how I understand it anyway.

    As for suggestions:
    Use thicker joints
    Better Welds
    Less Carb Holes
    Thicker/higher quality Boro
    Start a new company

  18. Ziggi, my friend bought a WS last year but decided to sell it for some of the reasons i'll list that we thought should be worked on, to make a better product and one that will last. First, the perc; the tube just seemed too draggy, even for our liking and he has some really draggy homemade pieces. So i would suggest open ended percs, or maybe just more trees. Next, the carb was pretty much pointless, no one likes to see them on bongs, most people i have talked to have never even seen one. Finally, the mouthpiece, the little bumps and stuff in the mouthpiece was just overkill imo, could have looked much cleaner and more pro. if it was omitted. Good luck on gettin new products out there!

  19. as a smoker i believe buying a higher quality tube will last you longer than buying a $100 tube from ws, and it turn save you more money, but thats just me, not knocking ws, but until they step it up i will buy from LW, toro, SG, etc only.

  20. Hey Ziggi, here are some legitamate sugestions

-make your trees closer together right side by side down the middle of the tube, not along the walls of the tube with an open gap in the middle.

-8 arm trees are the industry standard. stop with the 3 arm ones

-invest in some german 'uber' joints and put them on a few of your tubes

-on your inlines, make the can have a large bore, with the diffuser slightly smaller, with a splash chamber like on the '4arm' illadelph-style one. that would be dope

-pay more attention to your welds, they come out really sloppy on some tubes

-use a small logo, and put it somewhere out of the way. it's just classier.

-pay attention to make sure the tubes are annealed properly. some of your tubes are really stressed, and they will break easily because of this.
