i'm voicing support for the peaceful protest going on in MN. there's something seriously wrong with the policing in minneapolis, and as long as those protesting remain peaceful and respectful of others property and citizen safety i say stand strong. that whole police department needs to go back through the selection process.
Theres a few different things at play here. First; this is yet another horrible death of a person - not black, not white - a PERSON at the hands of the police - which, and especially in tye circumstances with which it happened, when there was zero violence happening by the young man, is entirely unacceptable. The police have been giving the protesters a hard time and shooting rubber bullets, flash-bangs and using tear gas. More unacceptable behavior. Unfortunately, the protests have also turned to violence and looting and especially in the beginning it seems - which sucks. I get it that folks are pissed and fed up tho. All avoidable. What a shame. j
Absolutely. Put in your 10-15 years and you could be running your own business by the time you're 35-40. There are a lot of very rich tradesmen in my area. The shortage is nuts. There are billboards begging people to work for $25/hour as entry positions.
Im considering starting a handyman service. Starting a construction biz is pretty moot if I cant find good help.
Yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa! Here's to all those white collars who looked down on me doing while I was doing their masonry, and to all those mason contractors working me like a dog, and to all those young punks laughing at me for working hard for a living, yeeeeeehaaaaaa! I'm going to Texas and help out some old potheads and hire me some hard working, gratefull immigrants !
i got pulled over once because i fit the description of someone. they had like ten cop cars. by the time all said and done, i could see it in the cops eyes, all that was a complete waste of time. and they knew it
housing is allready sky rocketing. the houses in my neighbor good are 30 years old, sold for less then 100k a couple years ago, now they are going for 250k what’s going to happen when it all collapsed? i feel bad for all of the home buyers
Rep. Maxine Waters is already inciting violence, and Nancy Pelosi is defending her. Pelosi defends Rep. Maxine Waters over her ‘get more confrontational’ remark to protesters
The judge overseeing former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin's trial in the death of George Floyd said Monday that Rep. Maxine Waters' comments could be grounds for appealing a verdict in the trial. "I'll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned," Judge Peter Cahill told defense attorney Eric Nelson on Monday. There will be violence no matter the verdict and a good time will be had by all. I'm liking the Florida governor more and more. He actually has a plan to stop or punish rioters and has got the coronavirus restrictions right from the start. I'd vote for him for pres in 2024.
You don't think that Florida's new law is contrary to the constitutional right to gather and protest? Guess the language no longer counts, just the R at the end.
The language certainly does count. Here's the law in a nutshell, where does it inhibit anyone's constitutional right to gather and protest? Combating Public Disorder; Authorizing specified elected officials to file an appeal to the Administration Commission if the governing body of a municipality makes a specified reduction to the operating budget of the municipal law enforcement agency; providing that a municipality has a duty to allow the municipal law enforcement agency to respond to a riot or unlawful assembly in a specified manner based on specified circumstances; reclassifying the penalty for an assault committed in furtherance of a riot or an aggravated riot; prohibiting cyberintimidation by publication; prohibiting a person from willfully participating in a specified violent public disturbance resulting in specified damage or injury; creating an affirmative defense to a civil action where the plaintiff participated in a riot, etc. House Bill 1 (2021) - The Florida Senate (flsenate.gov)
The summary hardly reveals the contents of the 61 page bill. If you are supporting a cause and some dumb chit taunts a policeman, it can then be declared a riot. Even if there are only 3 or more of you the cops may then arrest everyone even if you never uttered a peep. Then to top it off, there will be no release and no chance for bail until (god knows how long) your Court hearing. Pretty much the opposite of the direction the rest of the Country is heading. Potentially very repressive.
