STRAIGHT TUBE vs. BEAKER BOTTOM

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by frozenstein, Jan 5, 2011.

  1. Which one do you prefer? and Explain why?

I personally like beaker bottoms, something about them makes it look cooler. (when you see all the smoke coming out of the diffuser haha), but i have only used a straight tube like 5 times i think both get you high just as fast.

  2. Most high end tubes are straight tubes for a reason.. They can provide amazing diffusion via bubble stacking and provide significantly less drag than a beaker or a bubble bottom due to the fact that there is a smaller volume. I have hit beaker, bubble and straight tubes and can tell you that the straight tube is on a different level.

  3. i have both and my favorite tube i ever had was a beaker it was a 14in orange label roor beaker. the draw is alil bit slower and overall i feel that the rip is smoother than out of a straight tube. I only use my straight these days for vapor dome or ti skillet i use the beaker for herb everytime.

  4. thanks maybe my next purchase will be a straight tube :D

  5. straight tube. beaker bottoms have more of a "chugging" hit, which some people prefer, but straight tubes provide a smoother, faster rip in my opinion. also, straight tubes stack bubbles more evenly from what ive seen

  6. i liked beakers until i got my first straight. its the best.

  7. Straight: stacking bubbles, and stronger than a beaker bottom.

  8. I fucking love straight-tubes. They're just so awesome.

  9. Yeah I'd have to say I prefer and own straights. Beakers may be more stable with more water, but cheaper ones thin out at the base and the hit is never going to be better than a straight.

  10. i personally like straight tubes as well... my 5mm roor tube clears like a dream

theres nothing worse than sticking your mouth on a GonG and almost having to blow a blood vessel in your head to clear it

be easy on your body, you are already taking in a ridiculously large and condensed amount of smoke at one time, why would you want to do that AND work harder

  11. straight

simply bc Beakers have too much drag.

    Straight all Day

  12. In my opinion straight tube = very low drag, not as big of hit; breaker = bigger hit, more drag. If I could only have one bong it would be a straight tube, but Id pick up a beaker bottom eventually if I could have more than one.

  13. Not to mention milking a straight just looks so sexy.

  14. Straight tubes. I own both a straight and a beaker.

Straight Tubes hold less water so if that horrible day comes where your glass gets tipped over, there will be less weight in the tube and it's chances of survival are a lot better. You also get better diffusion with straight tubes.

  15. I have straight tubes and beaker tubes and can say i love beakers more, they give a thicker smoke and you don't have to pull as slow as a straight. Plus they are safer when smoking with multiple people, they have a much harder time tipping over. But if i'm getting ripped alone there is nothing like a straight tube.

  16. Straight. For all the reasons stated above.

  17. All you guys saying you like straight tubes cuz they stack bubbles look at this.

I prefer straight tubes to but beakers have there place.

  18. own both. I prefer the beaker at the moment, its new of course.
smoother and bigger/longer hits from the beaker, plus the diffusing is cool.

  19. damn everyone loves straight tubes except for me.

I like beaker because of the drag, It gives me a smooth, long hit. I dont like the way straight tubes hit at all, its harsh.

  20. Going from a striagth tube to a beaker, I like the beaker alot better.

-It just feels more solid because of the extra water
-IDK what you guys mean about alot of drag in beakers, mine has almost 0 drag...
    -Splash back is greatly reduced
-I prefer a nice, slow, even pull. Then a smack in the face by the wall of smoke. I can achieve this better with a beaker.
-In a straight tube i found myself changing out my water often because it would get dirty fast and begin to become room temp. In the beaker, the water stays cooler for longer.

Thats why i prefer my beaker over a straight tube. :smoke:
