  1. It’d look great out in the barn!

  2. Took me all day today to get the two outside perimeters ground down *just right* to fit properly, wrap all the edges in copper foil and solder them.

now I can fill in the center. I’ve found that starting in the center and working outwards the piece can grow enough to not fit in the opening lol

I’m planning on starting the middle tomorrow.

Have a good Saturday night peeps.

  3. Has your Diegel Stained Glass “Foiler” cut your foiling time in half?

  4. It absolutely has and I’m SO GLAD I bought it, Tim.

It takes at least some of the tedious work out of the equation and thats a very good thing.

Do you spend most of your time final shaping the pieces? You know what Tim the tool man Taylor would say. More power.

  7. Thats definitely a good portion of it. The grinder I’ve got is a good one. I did the research & spent the extra $$ making sure I got one that wouldn’t bog down no matter how hard I pushed the glass against the diamond wheel but its just one of those things where, because its glass, you’ve just got to take your time.

  11. Thank you Tim. Another full day at it - say 8 hours today.

I stopped at the glass store last night and picked up what I needed to finish. I liked the greenish center because it swirls from the green to a dark reddish like I was already using and it gave me a splash of color in the center that I was looking for.

I’m planning on filling in the balance with a bright clear “baroque” - which has swirls in it.

  15. Yes - its going in a curved dormer I built on our porch and is exposed from both sides.

I would anyhow though and have on everything I’ve made. It would feel unfinished to me if I didn’t.

I just started cutting the baroque glass for the center - hopefully will get it finished tomorrow if I can get a full day into it.

    night!
