Simple Green didn’t work...

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by WeedGrowsOnTrees, Jan 24, 2020.

  1. Hey all. I have a bong that has this brown film of residue which won’t come off. I researched quite a bit actually, and I have come here as a last resort.

I tried 99% iso+salt, hot water, boiling water but none of those helped. Eventually I tried an environmentally friendly all purpose cleaner but again, no help. I finally bought a bottle of Simple Green glass cleaner and without diluting, I gave it an overnight soak like mentioned in numerous old threads...
    with no luck again.

i have attached a picture however it is quite hard to get the residue on camera so it is what it is.

THIS ISNT YOUR REGULAR DIRTY BONG. Its a film of residue that has set in to the glass.

TL;DR- my bong has brown residue that wont come off. I tried possibly everything i can think of but it still won’t come off.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  3. He mentioned he tried that and it didn't work.

  4. Could try equal parts vinegar, hot water, few drops dish soap. Let it sit, maybe shake it a bit, rinse. Who knows might work.

  5. Acetone, make sure and wash good. It's the same stuff in nail polish remover. If your rigs really messy, wash with acetone and some fine sand, close all openings and shake, drain and wash.

  14. Do a good wash and be done, Some people get neurotic about using chemicals to clean. I don't, it's glass.

  15. Plenty of hot soapy water will do the rinse just fine.

  16. I used some cooktop cleaner but after shaking for a while, I was quite skeptical.

I eventually ended up using a pipe cleaner with a q tip attached to the end. Anyways after a good hour and a half of scrubbing with who knows how many q-tips and the power of the cooktop cleaner, all the residue came off!

  17. Sometimes glass that had been dirty too long just wont clean 100% I can't see much of the piece but if it really bothers you and it's not a fancy or expensive piece buy a new piece with an ash catcher or drop down depending on what you're smoking to keep the main piece clean.

Not to mention if the stain/brown color is really in the glass, it isn't coming out.
