In response to anyone making negative assumptions without any actual reasoning, -chill. For those wondering about this company... -I got this simba over two weeks ago now and I love it. I think it is quality glass for the price and 'Mufasa' hits very smooth simba glass is made by an artist that worked (works? ) for phire which is the company that made the attachment you see on the simba. this piece has already had two frightening falls onto wood** surfaces without even any scratches, thankfully. in short: I'd recommend the piece to a friend
I had gotten a Simba at a local pipe shop. It's about 3 months old now and has got a lot of use (it's a favorite amongst visitors), with no problems. The diffuser has no problem with being cleaned with a mineral cleaner either. Maybe the next time I clean my pipe, I'll take a picture and share it. I'd recommend them to a friend. I just can't find much information on the maker still.
Ok here is my 2 cents on the brand. My overall opinion is its not that great, quality is all over the place. Some pieces are strong and sturdy and others have crooked joints, bad welds, etc. I haven't seen anything eye poppingly original from the brand either. It doesnt sell for a high price in my area and its for a reason. Its bargain glass. Bottom line, I'm not a fan and wont be spending my money on it.
I have the Simba matrix perc piece, one of their fritted discs, and a Simba incycler. They all work amazing with super smooth rips and I am a 22 year old male if you think I am easy on glass you're crazy, I have used my pieces at parties, while playing beer pong, had a few heart stopping instances where they were dropped onto various surfaces (IE wood flooring, THIN carpet covering concrete) with no scratches, cracks, or breaks (not saying they are indestructible just that they are not cheaply made). Im not sure why everyone is getting so hurt about a new brand that is offering good pipes at nice affordable prices. Personally Im not sure I want to spend hundreds more on "higher end" glass and guess what guys that "higher end" glass breaks when you drop it too. Not thats not saying that I haven't purchased high end glass before, I have personally owned a Goldstein, ZOB, ALT, among others but I would say if you don't want to spend 600 bucks on a Goldstein for a fritted disc paying 350-400 for a Simba fritted disc isn't too bad. I understand some of yall are made out of money but I am not nor do I come from a lot of money, I make my own way in life and I personally like badass glass that I can afford on a budget but still WOWs me each and every time I use it.
I don't have the slightest idea why I am posting this here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gW7GdtWsXno
i have a simba stemless with a matrix perc and i love it. no complaints here, ive dropped mine from above hip height onto concrete, bounced twice then landed with out a crack or scratch. i forsure thought it was going to he toast as it fell out of my hands but no! simba remains king
Look, first this isn't a fake account, but i am a normal 22 year old and I work a lot. I wasn't trying to start any drama, I graduated high school a while back, I am just a regular Simba user who has consistently been happy with the product I bought from them for the price I paid. If you don't like them sweet bro, I don't care what you like or don't. I thought the point of threads like this was for people to give their opinions and share their experiences with different products. I just wanted to share mine that's all no offense intended. For those who are concerned : Simba glass is made by a company based out of Southern California. They make all of their glass with higher quality German glass. The company is actually known well, and more specifically for making custom pieces that include intricate, and unique percolation/color combination. While not all of their pieces are at "Top notch" quality, they are a high-level glass maker, that consistently put out high-level quality and detail. I am not biased toward this glass at all, and have owned a large array of locally, and custom blown pieces. Of the 5 real Simba rigs I've owned, I haven't had a single piece on any of them break. PLEASE BE WARNED, because this company is copied often, and some shops will push these fake pieces
Flowertech...where to start with you. Simba's percs are NOT unique..in any way. All stolen, inferior copies. Why would you create a GC account to make one post defending Simba on a year old thread unless you have some ulterior motive aka work for Simba, own Simba, etc Only time I've ever seen their work was in a headshop that almost exclusively sold Simba and Phire..enough said.
I know this thread is ridiculously old but I thought as an owner of multiple Simba pieces, I thought I'd at least respond to this thread, since there is still little knowledge to this brand. The company pushes a lot of their glass out to North Carolina. As has been stated before they use quality boro and German schott glass. Between myself and my close friend, I own 7 pieces from Simba, ranging from 125-900, from the aardvark nectar collector to the custom nuclear honey drip with matching honey bucket and custom microscope rig. I've never had a problem with any of their rigs, quality wise, never an annealing problem. Multiple shops in nc, specifically Smoke Rings often have large discount cases of their glass with kiln marks, improperly annealed glass, wompy joints etc. But they do make quality glass. I have an original prodo mario mushroom recycler from 2010, and the only thing I can say is that the new line of this particular series is that they don't look like they've been given as much love as the older models. As for my buddy, he's owned 8 of their rigs, including two custom honey hives, a hive a roon, two aardvarks, and my favorite flower/oil pieces by them to date, the slyme double froth (~350) and slyme honey jar recycler (~750). He's super clumsy with glass and unfortunately broken 5 of the pieces, from large drops onto garage concrete, but the glass itself has never shattered, it has always been the percs. I could also agree and make the argument that some of the percs are flimsy compared to the can quality, but I've also been lucky in my experience to get some great pieces. I've also got a 1 off custom microscope rig by a Simba worker right from California that is unlike any microscope/dabberscope rig I've ever seen. Sat on a shelf for 1200 for a long time, got it for 6 on 420. 6 inches tall, slyme with copperforming all over, with hollow microscope "stands) to balance the weight of the piece. Just an FYI, they do make some quality glass, and top grade honey buckets and dropdowns, for decent prices. North Carolina is a great place to find their glass, especially smoke rings.
