Shrooms in pots.

  1. I've got mushrooms growing in one of my pots. Two pots, same soil. But only one with shrooms. What do I do? Transplant it or toss it?

  2. Id honestly just let it do its thing as an experiement, the mycelium might make the weed grow better. Paul Stamets says mycelium is actually like a network, that helps keep things alive. Like those old national parks have tons of mycelium and he thinks is responsible for keeping them alive an healthy for so long.

  3. Apparently mushrooms are a sign of healthy soil and they'll probably decompose into a compost like material. I'd leave them.

As stated above they form a network in the soil and have other benefits.

  4. Some magic mushrooms for real!!

  5. Remember the mycelium lives under ground, what you are seeing is the fruit (mushrooms) coming up above ground. I would pick the shrooms and put them back as mulch or just let them die on their own and mulch in.

I would not worry about the mycelium at all, it is my understanding that mycelium/fungi is whats necessary to break down rock in the soil and convert it to a usable form for the soil web.

I'm considering intentionally innoculating mine with some mycelium.
