"I cant afford to drop over 300$ on a piece" blah blah blah If you can't afford to drop over 3-400$ on a piece dont click on a thread about a CUSTOM RooR. Custom RooR products cost money... Personally, when it drops, if it looks good and I like it I'll support GC by purchasing one.
id be interested if it wasnt a RooR collab. RooR seems to be a dying brand due to the amount of knockoffs out there and the quality of other glass being produced. yiou could spend less on a sick SYN for less than the straight tube RooR being made here
Roor.de is not a dying brand. Roor.us maybe but the German Roor is still the don of the simple straight. Other companies may do thicker tubes or bigger joints or whatever but none of them stand up to the German Roor. Everything is the best of the best from quality control, to the equiptment they use, to the raw materials and finally to the artists on the lathes.
I agree with you 100%. Their product and quality in many ways is second to none. Now, if you can just assure me and everyone else dropping several hundred dollars on a "RooR" tube that you are in fact getting a genuine product with 100% confidence, then I will also agree that it is not a dying brand. Until then, RooR will suffer and may ultimately die (at least the American market) due to the knock-offs being sold as genuine. The only other counterfeit market I've run across that has been worse is cuban cigars. I mean it really is frustrating with RooR that I can go out and feel pretty confident in buying damn near ANY other major brand (SYN, Illy, Sheldon Black, Toro, etc.) and not be forced to question it's authenticity to not only myself, but to almost any other glass aficionado out there who sees my tube for the first time. Not so with RooR, and our "spot the fake" thread says it all.
well said. the reason why RooR de is right now a dying brand is because of the amount of knock-offs in the market. the amount of fakes completely outnumbers the legitimate ones. as a result, people think they are buying a german RooR when in fact the money is going towards an american one. Plus, most tokers who purchase RooRs are unaware of the differences between german and american RooRs. Therefore, the marketing between the two is a struggle

i actually could afford it...but i wouldnt be spending that money on a RooR. hopefully he chooses to spend his 1000+ bucks on a more quality and innovative piece...say a peyote pillar
It says a price of $500-$600, why are you commenting if you don't even know the basic aspects of what's happening with it? Sj didn't ask for ideas about what he should do, he asked who would be interested in this idea that he explained, it's a pretty simple concept to grasp.
