RooR bong with stuck/broken downstem...NEED HELP!

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by ShowYaLuv, Dec 29, 2012.

  1. Alright so I got this 12 inch RooR a while back. My brother got me that exact same ash catcher for Christmas but my friend broke it 2 days later so I just got another

    Here's a pic:

As you can see from the next few pics, the top of the downstem completely broke off. Last night, I put that red base that you see from the pic on and took the extra stuff and put it on each side of the pliers so I didn't have metal directly on the glass. Thought this would help, obviously didn't because as soon as I put a little pressure on the downstem (trying to twist it loose) the top just shattered, fucking shit glass.

I'm going to go get a new downstem in a little bit, but I need some help on how to get this stuck downstem out now. I realize how much harder I made it by breaking the top and now dealing with sharp glass but there's gotta be a way to get this out. It's not even stuck because of res look how clean I keep this thing

I need to get this downstem loose. Any help is appreciated

  2. First off, that's a really bad fake roor. You can get all of your downstem needs right on this site.

  3. Got it at a local shop. Guarantee it gets the job done better than any other foot tall bong so idc. Getting a new downstem right now thanks for the help though

  4. 1. Skeptical on your opinion
    2. Find a new lhs

  5. Haha how about actually helping OP instead of reviewing his bong? :p umm that one looks difficult! Hm maybe if you put a pair of gloves on, like actual working gloves that can with stands shit haha like the raw leather ones if you know what i mean? Haha and stick your finger down there and twist? Could get it loose n' out, other than that i think ur screwed haha

  6. Try making a small hook on the end of a wire coat hanger, lower it to the bottom of the downstem and hook the end of it, and then pull.
You could two different coat hangers and hook opposite sides to apply more even pressure.

  7. Yeah, except for the fact that shitty glass breaks and gets stuck more than an authentic Roor does.

Good luck with your predicament, I've never had any joint sticking problems in my years owning glass smoking equipment, so I can't give much help there.

    I guess I could help.

Maybe try taking a nail and hammer and break the rest of the downstem carefully inside the tube .

Edit: forget what I said it won't work because of the upper perc, it'll get stuck, here's an idea, smash the fuck out of it and buy another:)

  9. Just take a piece of coat hanger wire and bend a small hook at the end, slide it into the downstem and hook it around the bottom, should pull right out.
    Good luck

  10. This. This. This. Exact same thing happened to my fifteen inch beaker, liquid sci glass. Bend a wire coat hanger, hook it in a diffuser slot, and give it a quick tug.

    keep it trilla.

  11. Dude just fucking no. It does not get the job done better than a 12" sovereignty or toro or mobius or anything that isn't a cheap ass chinese wanna be roor that doesn't even look like a roor. No need to get hostile when you're wrong buddy.

  12. Good look bro I'm gonna try this

  13. I ain't hostile, I'm just saying

  14. Instead of being assholes, why don't some of you actually help? Like you're not needed what so ever if your gonna be dicks about it.

Either I'm trying to figure this out myself. My chime is stuck in the downstem and I'm have the toughest time getting mine out. If I figure something out I'll let ya know.

  15. is that the joint of a bowl piece stuck in there? because I've had that happen.
what I did was get a wire hanger and straighten it out then snipped one end to get it completely straight, then used pliers to bend the end into a very small hook shape.
(very lightly) heated up the outside of the downstem joint with a torch and then planted my hook against the bottom of the broken bowl joint and pulled it free.

    good luck!
