Alright everyone I need some help. I consider myself highly educated on RooRs, but seeing as I can't see this water pipe in person - And it is from a site I have never heard of... I am a little skeptical (good price too) This is a 5mm custom RooR for only $159, $30 ship. It looks pretty awesome to me, with the gold ice notches and obviously the crown mouthpiece and bowl. The price seems way to low. Esp for a worked mouthpiece and worked bowl. Since it is a wholesale site is that price based on if you bought 100 of them? I would still say fake based on price for what you are getting. After looking at the site I'm for sure they are fake. The description is saying it is made from "German glass" Which makes no sense. Also all the other types of stuff the site is offering. I would just buy a nice German Made RooR off this site. @dank those are all fake.
@ NORML56 yeah, I agree with you. It seems too fishy. My problem is I am trying to purchase one from an online headshop in the states as opposed to overseas [The local shops have stupid prices on what they have, and none of the ones they have interest me] Anybody know of an online, US based place that has RooR pieces? I bought this one a few weeks ago for 150$ Im pretty sure its a fake but I was hoping for some clarification.
I came across a fake as FUCK RooR last weekend when I was at a friends place. I wish I took a picture of it for the thread. It was 3 feet tall, had a 3 arm perc, ice pinches, and a beaker bottom. Obvious give-aways were TWO seams along the tube where you can see the glass has been joined. The logo was crooked and way too big. Also, when you tapped the bottom of the beaker, the glass was SOO thin, that the whole beaker would actually ripple, you could feel the glass wanting to give out. Sketchiest bong I've ever hit.
Not gonna disagree that they are fake, but the German glass part makes sense. RooR uses Schott-Duran right? That glass is manufactured in Germany.
@Pure Milk I'm almost 100% sure those are legit .US pieces on that site. Everyone that they have listed on there looks real from the photos. Not sure how they're selling them so cheap though. *ETA* SPS WHolesale is listed as an Authorized Roor Dealer after further investigation. I may have to make some purchases....
@NORML56 I went into one of the best headshops here in Columbus "High Up Water Pipes" located on High St downtown. The guy there told me I can look them ^ up on the roor site, because the roor site lists official authorized dealers. I looked up sps and believe it or not, they are an authorized roor dealer. if you go to their front page its clearly a place for shops/wholesale only. so you cant go this route.
They do say a minimum purchase of $150. So it's hard to say what their policy is. If one item is over $150 than does that mean you can order just the one item?
I tested it out by putting the Rasta label beaker $145 in the cart and it told me I need to spend at least $150, like the front page says, in order to purchase. So I dropped the beaker, and added another piece that was over $150 and it was all set for me to pay. -Shipping is $30, but still an amazing price... Some of these are custom, and all thick (5mm), and all come with a German diffy (American diffusers have slits, not holes.). I have always wanted a German diffuser. The pictures and everything are nicely done, you can see the details really well when you zoom in. Anyway I think they just have a crap site and I think have only been in business since 2011. Idk, they probably cater to shops but I'm thinking (hoping) you can purchase as long as it is over $150. I hope I found something great here.
If I were in the US I would jump all over those SPS RooR's. One hell of a deal! I know international shipping would probably kill me. ...damn I can't wait for the 4/20 sale at Liquid Chrome
It never asked you for a Federal tax ID or resale license? Still seems fishy to me that they are selling them that cheaply for a 5mm worked beaker and worked bowl with a diffused down stem. And the rest of the stuff on the site looks like the super cheap imported chinese glass. I've seen people on here buy fakes from authorized dealers. The RooR snapper is kind of a neat one. Also that same Roor ten arm bubbler is selling for 330$ on that popular site that sells glass.
on their home page it says they "MINIMUM ORDER $150. This website is for wholesale purchases only. We may require a federal tax ID or resale license for orders." so they will probably ask at the end of the transaction,
