Was curious what makes and models of vehicles you have found to be reliable for you??? Or perhaps, what's your opinion on a 2014 or newer.. 1. Chevy Silverado 1500 4×4 2. Honda CRV 3. GMC Terrain 4. Jeep Renegade What mileage to dump em, what things to look out for ect. Give opinions about the models listed, or just any make and model that you think is legit ect.
Any Toyota I've ever had has been super reliable. I had an old land cruiser (diesel) that had 375k miles when I sold it to a friend 10 years ago who still uses it on his farm to move feed etc... I had a Toyota Corolla about 25 years ago and that was a great car too. At the moment I've an old E39 BMW 5 series (diesel) that has 220k on the clock, it's more expensive to maintain than the Toyota's but she's never let me down. Never, ever buy an Italian car - Alfa Romeo/FIAT.
Nissan was good ..stealing Datsun stuff like their chain link timing belts all others use rubber? Was is the key word here. Then they started robbing everyone on their shitty transmissions. Well done for them.
Mitsubishi is a very good car. I have seen many over 200.000 miles and a few over 300.000. The key to any car lasting is to do all maintenance and change oil and trans fluid often
I've owned 3, Mazda6's and all of them went to 150k miles with no major issues. The worst repair was a water pump going out (I think I paid somewhere around ~$300 for the repair), but that happens. I feel that Honda and Toyota are the standard though most major car manufacturers have really come a long way with reliability.
There’s a U.K. tv show called top gear. They tried everything to destroy a Toyota hilux. Engine started and it drove away with nothing more than basic hand tools every time. And by try everything I mean they set it on fire. Threw it in the sea. Smashed it into a big tree... it still wouldn’t die so they hoisted it on top of a block of hi rise flats and blew the lot up. Drove away no worries. Think they’re illegal in the US.
USA all the way. Tho China makes some good products. They do NOT have the customer service, faulty equipment=no refund
a distant neighbor has one that I often leer at, most interesting is the suspension its still leaf spring?
Toyota #1 I have owned 8 of them, all great reliable vehicles. I am currently destroying a 94 Suzuki Swift with 1.3ltr 4 cyl. It is proving to be very resilient. It rides like crap, looks like crap, but has surprising off road prowess. I love it and hate it, as I love and hate myself. Edit To the op if I were buying up to 2014 it would be a Tacoma. From your list the Jeep will hold value better than rest, just Renegade not crappy Cherokee.
I was a Toyota guy with 2 Camry's nearing 300k miles each. Great cars! I just wanted to switch to Hyundai after several friends and family members drive them, and have been loving my 2017 Sonata. Very reliable car.
