Hey GC, I am making a home made bong this weekend that I can use for the next 2 months. I am going to head to home depot and get materials, i want it to be actually pretty nice for being not done by a glass blower or something. My Question: How big do I made the hole on the bottom of the bong for the slide? I am waiting for 2 months to get a higher quality bong because I am home for the summer and need to be able to hide it or not worry if it breaks or something. I will probably buy a cool slide for it from a local headshop Thanks GC! Happy tokin
Well, it depends on what size stem you're going to use. My advice: Use heat to melt a hole in the material(assuming its plastic) until the hole is just smaller than the stem, stop heating and push the stem through, if you do it right it should form an airtight seal. If the material you're putting a hole in isn't plastic or melt-able, use either a sharp object or a drill to make a hole that is slightly smaller than the stem. Again, if you push it through right it should form a tight seal. And if you can't make a hole that is smaller than the stem or if you mess up, wrap a layer or two of tape around the stem and push it through the hole. The tape should form an airtight seal if done right. It all depends on the materials you choose to make your bong from. I'd suggest working mainly on finding a good stem, thats the most important part, the bong can be whatever you want it to be xP
