Hey guys, im new on here and wanted to know something real quick : ) Basically i made a home made wooden pipe, its not the best looking or the fanciest. What i did was literally get like a rounded stick which is obviously quiet thick. Cut it down to about 8 cm. Then made a hole through one end with a drill and so on, so it made a L shape in the pipe. basically, all i did was clean it with water and let it dry. Im not going to smoking straight from the wood, ive actually fitted a metal thingy on top to put the weed in it. What i wanted to know will it be safe? i mean im not lighting the wood. Do i need to clean it with something? I dont know what wood it is, but its solid wood. Please if you can help : )
I used that same method when i was younger, except with broken wooden hockey sticks. Wooden hockey sticks usually have some glassfiber sheets on the top, but once you cut the stick the sheets start to peel, so just finish the job(you really don't want a puff of glassfiber smoke/vapors) by peeling them off and sanding it down a little. The wood in the hockey stick is extremely dense, as they have to survive a 100 mph slap shot. I don't use metal bowls, ever. Just like plastic, you're not sure if the metal has a coating that will release some bad things into your body, or the metal itself. But seriously, use glass. Never any worries with glass. You didn't answer his question There's no way to tell if it'll be safe or not, but as long as it's not caked in dirt or whatever then it shouldn't be too harmful.
