  1. A welcome splash of color coming from an elusive Iris.

  2. That's a beauty! I can grow Iris, but they seldom bloom for me!

  3. I've done very little to encourage these two Roses but the one fully exposed is more hesitant with blooms than the one that receives only partial Sun. A Blueberry and a pair of Blackberries in the foreground of the first shot are coming along nicely and the companions in the shade are in their third year; Rosemary, Plantains, Japanese Spurge, and Catnip among others.

  5. The gift of heartier species is the ability to provide samples that spread color throughout my duller efforts. These were birthed by the thatch beneath the Iris and have offered a contrast and continued back splash for the Mexican Petunias that are likewise sprinkled across my displays. 6. I’m steady starting seeds in hopes of having something to show here. Does anyone grow Chamomile flowers? I ran across a deal on some seeds and got some. I don’t get enough nap time.

  9. As the snow is retreating, I have my first sign of life. A tulip spout (red), inches from the snow. It was covered in snow this am, it’s melting fast.
I made up a new bed with fresh peat as part of the soil.
This works excellent for hydrating new peat. Shovel some spare snow on top.
Slowly melts over a few hours and hydrates the peat perfect. This bed got covered in snow twice today to get just right.
Planted 3 Toad Liliy roots in the bed.
    Cheers

  10. Relocated my efforts to capture the Sunniest spot in the back yard; Zucchini, Yellow Crookneck, and Sweet Potatoes should do better this year than the partial shade they suffered with last year when committed to ground.

  13. Resin half barrels from Lowe's ($14.00) drain holes in the bottom seem to allow if not promote Earthworms to migrate into the container from the yard.
