So i don't post a large amount but I read heavily...I ordered on May 30, 2011 a Jet Flash smoking System (The Helix Bootleg) and I am patiently waiting its arrival...at least 20 decent reviews, the price/value, and becuz I'm a stoner convinced me to purchase. This is my 1st order from GC and I can say that I'm super excited. I have a 1/2oz left of mid from an oz that I grabbed on the 30th to help me pass the time. I also have 2 grams of sour that have just been sittin in my box waiting for this piece. When it arrives pictures/milks galore will be had...until then? RAW papers, Elements extra thins, Juicy Jays Bluberrys, and my little pipe.

Alrighty...so two things happened last night...I smoked at least 10g of herb through my jet-flash and I tried shrooms for the 1st time....sorry for slow progress but its coming. @boxfan And also I support outsourcing as much as the next american company. If I want to spend my hard-earned American money (that nobody in America helped me earn btw) on a product from another country....well thats my red, white, and, gotdang blue right! Its called freedom of choice to do what the eff I want to do with my money. The american worker is undermined by the corporations such as the one you support that make mediocre products, overcharge for them, and underpay the workers that built them. Unlike other mass-produced items in China, we are all in a privileged position to be able to support our local glassblower / economy. And obviously, the buyer benefits from owning a superiorly made product.

It is childish. Like the OP said, he has the right to spend his money on whatever he wants. Also, smearing a competitor because you are jealous you didn't make a buck? Perhaps you should rethink your marketing and prices instead of attacking people selling similar products. If this post was made by the real creator of the helix pipe, shame on you. Act like an adult and a business man. If it was made by an impersonator, shame on you for smearing the name of an otherwise reputable company.
This might be long, as I am trying to respect everyone with a complete answer. You are absolutely right and have my apologies. You earned it. My real issue is with jet-flash. They straight stole my design that I have been working my ass off to perfect for 4 years. The quality of the JF is shit. They are very thin and when they break, people come to us for replacements. You have know idea what you speak of... We are not a corporation, but a small, family owned business. I have been blowing glass for almost 14 years, learned from Bob Snodgrass. Yes, by the time our products go through the distribution chain, they are expensive, but believe me that I ain't over here Ro$$in out. We pay our peeps very well and show them the respect a talented craftsperson deserves. Apparently you don't share the same sentiment, so hang off deez nuts! I don't dislike China glass or glassworkers. I hate fucking unimaginative rip-offs. I promise you that I have no interest in making $4 spoons. We are lucky as pipers that tobacco products are expensive to import to the US and allows us to build a craft industry, when very little shit is still made here. Did you read the same post I did? There was no attack, but more a defense of my design by making sure everyone is aware that Jet Flash is a cheap imitator, at best. I'm not sure what they truly 'stole'. The Helix as-is is essentially an amalgamation of features that already have existed, anyway. There have already been bongs and pipes using air ports the way the helix does, and there have already been multiple attachment pieces. You didn't create either of those things, you simply combined them into a single piece and put a lot of hype-marketing into it the same as is typically done in this industry towards novelty pieces. In a free market imitators are going to exist, defaming their product makes consumers wary of you because it's so very unprofessional.
That might be your belief, but the patent office felt that I had an original design, as well as the maker of the Typhoon(who has one of the first one's I made). Yes, it is an amalgamation of previous technologies, but that does not mean that it is not innovative and worthy of intellectual property rights. Jet Flash blatantly copied the design with no improvements whatsoever. If I want to say "shame on them", that is my prerogative. Please tell me of all this "hype" marketing. We run no ads, no commercials and we have a shitty website. Our mantra is to concentrate on the quality of the product and let our customers market for ushello:thanks to all of our supporters). I disagree. Copying my design, verbatim with no improvements, is very unprofessional. As cheaply priced as they are, I am suspect of there labor source, as well.
I have to agree more with boxfan. Although, people have the right to do what they want to do so if you feel like supporting the jet flash then so be it. But you cannot deny that they straight up stole his idea, there is no way to justify it. You also cannot deny that they make an inferior product compared to the original.
The removable downstem is something you might want to consider from the JF, but yeah they straight up ripped off your design and are screwing you on the pricepoint as well with shoddy quality etc. American citizens have the freedom to do whatever they want so long as it doesn't break any laws or interfere with the well being of another individual, am I right? That leaves a lot of room to act foolishly regardless of who's choice it is to make tl;dr just because buying that isn't necessarily wrong, it certainly isn't right either
