Just finished building it last night... out of weed at the moment, so i broke open a cig and smoked a bowl of tobacco just to see how it hit. feels like i am going to be able to get a massive hit out of it Had to see in that first picture, but there is actualy 3 chambers in it. it breaks down like this it is made of PVC Pipe, but the bowl and smoke tube is made of copper. I named it Apollo, it looks like a rocket, and everybody knows what rockets get... HIGH!!!
if you notice on the middle piece in the second picture, it is painted completly black... but its not paint, its a product called plasti-dip, used to put rubber grips on handles of tools that have broken off, it is very thick and very durable, water tight, air tight, and zero fumes... the inside of every piece if coated with it except for the last one... i ran out of paint, no fumes, no chemicals, no cancer... lol
all of them have to be covered, even the last one, because fumes are burnt off of pvc at about half the temperature watered filtered smoke is at when it enters your mouth, google it
yeah, im going to Home Depto tomorow to get more of the stuff... and im not going to bother to google it, i trust you know what you're talking about since you are a professor after all lol
I never smoke tobaccy outa any of my pieces homemade or not there is almost no way to get ride of the smell. but pvc isent to bad onely if it gets hella hot
The PVC is fine if it stays room temperture, but copper is BAD, do not smoke out of copper. I think brass may be ok, but copper is BAD. STOP WHILE YOU CAN.

Yuh "Copper gives off Copper Oxyde which is highly toxic and very unhealthy for you when heated" Make sure the bowl is stainless steel, ceramic, or pyrex. Oh and the PVC is fine - what do you think they make plastic bongs out of? Some people really have no intelligence
Im not going to wate my time arguing about the dangers of PVC(and yes, it is dangerous) instead i will tell you how bad of an idea it was to use copper for a bowl. Hvae you ever seen those lighter that burn green? well, they burn green because of the copper. smoking out of copper is a very,very bad idea you would be much better of using tin foil(which is also bad, bu nowhere near as bad as copper) EDIT: ooks like eveyone else beat me to it
Hmmm well looks like im going to be dead very soon... i also have a coper bong, and a copper bowl... shit im quite the inventor, so i was wondering, what about Steel? aluminum? and the bowl is a brass fitting, but it has a bit of copper in it where the pipe is welded 2 it... looks like im going to have 2 throw out my bong and redesign it wth some diffrent materials on an off note, anyone know a good way to fix the hinges on a laptop, my screen just broke and im pretty much fucked unless i find a good way 2 fix it...
i think stainless steel is the safest metal to use as a bow(dont quote me on that though), but you can always make the bong itself out of other materials then go buy a glass bowl and downstem from the local headshop.

been there done that... my problem is that i have never really figured out how to shape it just right, i tried about 15 times to get anything that resembled a bong, my results, nothing more then 2 flower vases and a couple big round balls of glass and a lot of glass shards... i can get the bong shape right, i just cant get a decent bowl, or neck
that thing is sikk. i like the art of making home made pieces but it seems like people are making them less and less often lately
yeah dude, don't smoke out of copper.. you should save all the money you would spend on building bongs and buy one.
