I was at the tobacco shop around here for the first time getting shisha for my girl. They had a bunch of pure's and roor's and other named glass there so i started to take a look. I saw this double skull perc with a diffused downstem and a huge skull slide for 99.99, i talked the man down to 75 and got that. The next day i went back and picked out an ash catcher which he tried to give me for 55 but i got down to 45 and another diffused downstem which was another 15, so the whole 5 piece set up was 140 dollars total. It is VERY nice and has almost no drag, the whole system clears like a snap even when fully milked because its nice and small. I lived at my friends house for a while and he had a double perc manifest and double perc roor w/ ac and i absolutetely adored the roor, but this really compares so well for the budget buy. I really like it alot : )
I can already tell its from the same Chinese company that made mine and well that pink its paint and will come off...
my friend has the same tube, only in green. DO NOT USE HOT WATER ON IT, the "paint" will come off in sheets. His green bong is now a half green, half clear bong. lol.
Wow... you guys should probably clean all that shit out with acetone... I wouldn't want to be breathing in chinese paint fumes. If they put lead paint in kid's toys you think they give a damn about you?
Please understand that I am in no way trying to dis your new pick up, I just think it is very important to know what your buying. There are a lot of shops that dont give a shit what they sell, they are just in the game for the money. This is sad but very true! I think people should do a lot of research before they buy any glass, unless you dont care what your buying. But there are a lot of shops that do care what they put in there store, me being one. Just remember, research is free. There are many sites you can go to and learn a lot. Just try and pay attention to the ones that do know what there talking about.
i saw the made in china stickers, i was not expecting to get an illadelph or roor for 75 dollars, this is an extremely budget bong but it bubbles 3 times so i like it. i have no money right now for anything else i wish i did. as far as the "paint" its only on the outside so im not worried about "chinese toxic paint fumes" thanks to all the people who were respectful and not just haters who were sad they already had the same bong
Maybe it's just me but I was under the impression that the people who own your same tube were trying to help you out and warn you to keep you safe. I guess they were just hating... my bad.
so i picked up a bong yesterday from a local headshop that is very similar to the ones you are showing, i'd had my eye on it for a while and decided to go for it. mine, however, is about 21" tall and is cylindrical rather than "beaker" shaped as i am seeing in the pictures. its got the double skull perc, and the coloration on the top and bottom of the perc window is royal purple and frosted (which i assume comes from bead-blasting), it's all glass on glass fittings, with a diffused downstem. I saw this post and decided that i would rather it be clear for aesthetic reasons, aside from my utter lack of desire to inhale paint chips or fumes. So i got myself and mr clean magic eraser and began to scrub, to absolutely no avail. Even the frosting on the glass (which i had assumed was fake as well, from everything i am reading in this post) withstood the magic eraser. So i was wondering, did you scrub at the glass before or after the paint began to flake? I knew the bong was made in china, i saw the sticker before i bought it (though the sneaky bitch behind the counter peeled it off before putting it into a box for me...i dont know who they think they're fooling), but that doesnt matter to me in the least, because i like the piece. I am still interested in removing any coloration that may be attached to either side of my piece, so i'd appreciate it if you could get back at me with a litle more detail on your Magic Eraser method thanks
well I think you should post a picture of it. Not all of them are painted. Some of them actually have colored glass. I can spot the ones that are painted. A dead give away for painted is the joint color matches the rest of the bong most of the china stuff that is colored glass the joint will be clear and the rest of the glass is colored glass. Inconsistent coloring or thin spots are a give away too.
nah, a place called Burnt. weakest joint ever. everyone around here talks about it like its something wonderful, ive always said that i refuse to shop there (for numerous reasons which i wont go into right now for fear of carpal tunnel) but that if i did the only piece i was interested in was the purple bong with green skull percs. so now i have it, and ive got no reason to ever go there again. [Edit]: bashing
the coloring looks very consistent overall through the piece, but give me about 20 minutes and ill get some pics posted...im not sure if i can upload things from my ps3's external drive. long story short, ill get back to you in a few.
okay so these are taken with my cell phone in very poor lighting, hopefully you will be able to see enough. i was really surprised to find that these bongs were painted, this one has a very even coloration, and, though i couldnt take a picture of it because of lighting quality, if i look thru the base, the areas where the glass is a little thinner by design are also much more blue than purple but as i said, i would prefer to have it clear, so let's see what you've got to say:
