New Dab Rig not Giving great hits

obviously heat is going to be your number one thing to make sure you’re getting the oil to smoke... I think you’re describing a setup basically where you have a dome with a hole in it, and then after heating you place the dome over the nail and then dab through the hole.

this is never going to be your most effective way of dabbing. You will want to get something that allows you to dab without a dome. I personally prefer titanium but a lot of people are going to swear by quartz for flavor. I prefer to dab at higher temperatures and turn my eNail up to 712 degrees. Which a lot of people will say I’m crazy for.

for your torch you’re going to want to torch it until it’s bright red and you need to quickly dome and dab. This exchange is just not ideal to a domeless nail.

 

Yeah you need a better bowl brother.

that attachment you have is pretty hard to fine tune.

As mentioned, try a quartz banger or a bucket style for the rig.

 

Is the torch that pen looking thing? That’s a pretty cool setup actually and should work. Heat is your problem.



I preferred one with a cord when I used a torch and not eNail.

You need to get the nail bright red. As soon as the red is gone, drop the dab onto the nail and put the dome on and inhale. I have one with a dome and I like it. It keeps the hit where I want it instead of going everywhere when I drop the dab onto the nail.

I have graduated to a nectar collector and i have a puffco peak which I love but it's very expensive.

 

So it’s hard for me to see how your nail works but you said no holes. So it’s just kind of a small bowl for the dab? You should place your dab directly onto the center of that bowl and not anywhere else. Are you placing it around the table or in the center?

it’s been a very long time since I’ve used a dome. So it’s hard to remember exactly the difference.

do you have a buddy who has a rig without a dome you’re comparing your own experience to?

how long you let it cool down is going to be a personal choice. I tend to take bigger dabs and the nail cools down right away when you dab. So I start my dabs early (when not using eNail), whereas I have friends who wait in order to savor the taste.

Some people use carb caps to get the rest of their wax from the nail. Idk if they have those for domes though.
You could get like a half dollar or a quarter should do the trick. You should be able to hold it over the opening to heat up the area just a little more and get the rest.

Is a bong or a dab rig better ? I always liked bongs with perc 1 or more ..

Doesn’t matter I cannot afford wax anyway but I was curious if a rig was better then a bong w the nail and attachment like I have ceramic stored up somewhere.

I don't get what you are doing here. Are you taking the nail off?
You drop the shatter onto the center of that nail and put the dome on immediately.

 

If it's dripping, make it hotter and take smaller dabs. With the dome + nail setup, you can easily lose wax by letting it melt over the nail. Definitely get a proper banger + cap.
