don't boil it dude. i just saw a really good thread explaining how to clean your bowl with iso and salt. go check that out. and no, it will not hurt it. dont quote me on this but : I think the frosted is from some kind of sand blasting or something like that. its actually part of the glass not something attached to it. (and if this is wrong, please correct me, cause this is what ive been assuming for quite some time)

With bongs I find iso+salt works well to an extent (leaves streaks and water spots). With bowls... not so much. The tiny nooks and crannies of a bowl often are left covered in resin when using just salt as an abrasive. The only substance that I've found will get my extremely dirty bowls as clean as new is Grunge Off Super Soaker.
