I never tried any other methods so no but the stuck piece is very minor so I haven't been worrying about it. I did get an ashcatcher (6 arm perc) that has made the piece a dream to use now unbelievably smooth combo.
Bake it in the oven for a few hours at 400 or higher. Or try using a torch if the flame will reach the perc. Then use iso + salt and you should be good. Any plant material should combust into dust/ash and the iso+salt wash/rinse will remove the rest..
Its glass you should be good, I've done it before with my stuff, no issues. To each their own. I bring my bubbler with me when I go camping and bury under the charcoal before I start the fire, then in the morning ill pull it from the ashes and ill have a completely clean rig. I'm worried it grows mold as I travel so I try to sterilize from time to time. No melting observed. I try to make sure theres no water in the piece when I heat it bc I don't want water bubbles to expand and create pressures ect. No issues yet. Good luck
