made from PVC. Pen tubes used as slide untill i figure out a better method. wooden bowl that needs a bit of modifying. Cuppling with ice catcher, more pics later. Made from a two/4 piece of wood that my friend told me i would never be able to make into a pipe Hope you like =]
pvc pipe is terribly toxic when contacted by heat (AKA hot smoke) and your wood piece could be toxic as well. soak it in olive oil over night and let it dry out , it will give it a nice color to.
the smoke is going threw the slide right into cold water, wouldnt the smoke cool down enough to make it safe?
i dunno man im not a scientist but i can damn sure tell you i wouldnt risk smoking out of it just in case. why dont you get some acrylic tubing its just about as cheap as PVC.
ive done some reasearch on PVC. Bisphenol A (BPA) is used primarily to make plastics and found in PVC. BTA has a low dose of toxicity. Scientists did all these high tech expirements on this and they found that the coolder the water in the bottle with BTA has little to no toxins in it and the hotter the water the more toxic it gets, these are the same plastic bottles that you can buy at your local store and drink from with no problem. So i figure, as long as i keep the water and PVC cold, i should be all set.
The PVC should be fine and dandy, i mean they use it to carry hot water for god sake. Hot smoke should be fine. And nice homemade to I like.
cool bong, I like my POM a bit more though, I must admit. =p Then again once I got my PURE, plastic = never again.
