My first one, made from a skinny highlighter, using the cap from a fat one as the bowl. The black in the bowl is obviously ash. Same concept as the first, with a tiny bowl and a fat body instead. My 3rd pipe. This one's kinda interesting. It's a Sweet Tarts container, 2 tiny holes, and then the lid flips open to reveal the bowl. The bowl is really nice considering how makeshift it is. The white around the top is a postage sticker, just in case it wasn't air-tight. Isn't that great for smoking, but it does work. I made this one just today. I used a bottle cap from a Sparkling Grape Juice bottle and cleaned it off, then melted it into a pill bottle. I haven't smoked with this yet, but it should work fine. My first time using a real metal bowl, too.
All beautiful, but it's time to lose the aluminum foil. It may be really shitty for you, and it's a risk you shouldn't take.

thats coo bro I would suggest usin sockets from a scocket wrench and the getting a screen out of a broken head phone or something. The iPod ones have seemed to work best in my experiences, and use a smalle socket for the highlighter pipe it works well and take out the back so its like a steam roller. You cover the back hole and when your done hitting it take your fingure off and inhale good times later bro and welcom to the community.
Thanks man, I'll try that. I've used a socket in a bigger pill bottle before, but I never thought to try it at home. I also have several pairs of old headphones, so I could try that. They don't burn? Does the highlighter work better with the big carb? I could give it a shot. Also thanks for the welcome, I like it here already.
I would recommend getting a socket from your local head shop. If you can't to that, try the socket from a wrench with a screen in the bottom. I will say that you should probably get a cheap glass piece soon. You won't be able to tolerate your homegrown pieces for very long. P.S. Nice grammar!
Haha, thanks. I try. I don't have a clue if I have any head shops here, since I'm new to this. I have a few sockets laying around, so I could probably work with those. What does a beginner glass piece start at? How efficient is it, in comparison to highlighter pipes?
It really depends on whether you can buy things online or not. If you can, you can pick up a nice piece, probably a spoon, for under twenty dollars. If you go to a head shop, (which are very easy to find, just ask around) prepare to pay a little more. Once you have a glass piece, it will be smoother than the highlighter, better looking, and longer lasting. If you keep it clean, it'll last forever.
DO NOT USE IPOD HEADPHONE MESH AS A SCREEN. Please, it's coated in plastic.. not good. Just buy some screens, or use something that isn't gonna melt like a screen from a sink or something
heres a good rule of thumb when making homemades. if it smokes when heat is applied, its probably not a good idea to use as a bowl or close to where the bud is. so if you find a screen and want to use it, hold it under a lighter for a while and see if it lets off smoke. same with bowls. also look out for funny smells coming from shit when its heated up. other than that its all common sense. obviously you dont ever want to breathe in fumes from heated plastic. you worried me with the highlighter one. did you say that the bowl is a plastic lighter cap wrapped in foil? stop smoking that shit man, youre killing youreself. i think the best advice is to get yourself a little glass spoon. best purchase ive ever made was this blue spoon from a gas station. cost me like 15 bucks and its really thick glass. clean hits, easily portable.
everything is ok but the foil,just go to a smoke shop and buy a pack screens for a dollar and it be ok to use
None of these release smoke when heated. The bowl to the highlighters is the cap from the highlighter melted in, then wrapped in foil. I didn't know it was so bad, thanks for the headsup. Given the chance, I will buy a glass piece.
the aluminum foil is bad for ya health, you should cut the bottom off that pill bottle so it can be a mini steamroller
man, why dont you just buy a small pipe or bong? you can get them cheep, and my home made bong, i used a tin pop can i cut it about 4cm by 4cm and rolled it into a cone and stuck the small end in a hallowed out pen, it worked great.
I don't believe the whole hub bub about aluminum. I found my uncles stash with my cousin (Which had to have been at least 5 ounces) along with his piece. His piece was a finely rolled aluminum foil chillum, and he's probably been smoking out of those since he got married (my aunt doesn't know he smokes) nearly 20 years ago.
I read an actual study on it, and it said that it wasn't harmful. I'm not sure... Everyone says it, but yeah... I don't have a choice right now, so I guess it doesn't matter.
It may be a little harmful, but my uncle's been doing it for 20 years. I still don't suggest it if you have choices. Get a nice glass piece if you get the chance.
