Just went to the gas station and bought some papers. Decided i wanted to learn how to roll a joint just because i felt like it. The pictures are of the 3rd attempt. the others i scrapped because they were way too lose and not very well rolled. still trying to get a hang of the rolling movement with the fingers. (and how long should the roach be? i think mine is WAY to long, haha.)

comments to help me with the process?

yeah man way better than the average first jay:hello:

and to help you with the process, I sayeth unto you: KEEP ROLLING

and try rice papers and hemp papers

    and the kingsize ones

  5. Looks good for a first try. To me, it looks a little loose though. Just saying

  6. lol, that roach is like 4X how big it should be.

still a not bad roll job though.

investing in a roller would help you out alot but the skill to roll a nice joint always comes in handy.

  7. nah, you're right. im still working out the kinks. im sure its still smokeable though. i will let you all know later tonight after work :D

thanks for all the positive comments!

  8. nice joint for the first time, but yeah, the filter is a bit big, but good job

  9. update: first ever joint i wrapped/smoked was amazing. im feeling really good right now. REALLY good

  10. the roach shud be the size YOU like.

  11. The filter should be about as long as the orange filter on a cigarette, but make it however long you want, as long as its comfortable to hold.

  12. the best filters are index cards!!. trust me. just cut the index card into strips, about 3-5 cm for me. but you can cut into any size you prefer. than just fold the first bit into a tiny z. after you do that just roll it in around in your fingers. depending on wich way you roll with your fingers you should figure out wich way rolls tight and lose. the z form that you bend in the begining gives the roll support so it will not unfold. thats how you make the filter. or "roach"

  13. A little work could be done. All i suggest is pushing the weed down with a pokey. Like a pencil or something. Itlll get more weed in there and shape it more. Also try thinner papers.

  14. you should get yourself A LOT more bud to work with. having plenty of bud all the way along the joint makes it plenty easier, and then you dont need such a massive roach/filter.

  15. a filter?

thats looks like a crutch, looks like you took some of the hard paper your rollies came in and shoved it in there, but it looks good. If you think about how its engineered its pretty easy to do.

    one piece of advice:

ive taught a few how to roll and everytime i tell them to not try and go for speed. a lot of people define their joint rolling by how fast they can roll or if they can do it while driving, but a truly perfect joint is to be tended to. If you spend the time EVERY time then you will have a good joint that burns well and doesnt run on you.

btw, rolling in the car while driving is one of the easiest things to do, you dont even have to take your hands of the wheel. I hate when people brag about how cool that is, does anyone know what im sayin?

  16. Looks pretty good for a first timer. I don't use a filter but hey, to each thier own. I suggest that, if you don't already, start rolling from the center with your thumbs in a upside-down V shape and roll your index fingers down your thumbs untill you reach the ends of the paper while keeping a bit of pressure. The whole time pull the paper outward slightly to keep any creases out. Hope that made some sense. And. of course, practice makes perfect.

  17. My only advice, don't use a crutch.

When you're out of bud, it's great having your doobie ashtray =)

  18. if you want to buy a roller, theyre like five dollars. Practice is everything!

  19. I don't know why people hate on pretty big crutches like those, I always roll mine that big. You don't burn your fingers and you know when it's cashed and can just flick it away. Plus you can use the crutch to pack it a little tighter so it burns slower without running.

  20. thanks for all the advice! im packing my last bowl for this wake-and-bake before school and im going to be dry. so i will be practicing this on my next pick up. thanks again!
