If that is foil I would pitch it, foil can KILL YOU! get a pen tube, electrical tape and a socket from a tool box. Better than foil, and can be found around the house.
pretty good for a homemade peice especially your first. tinfoil supposedly aint good for you but it never did me no harm
you smoke outta the socket, make sure it' clean and not coated with anything harmful though. it's safer than the foil. i'm pretty sure if he could he would, or maybe he wanted to make his own. there are plenty of reasons why one would make one instead, and since buying a bong isn't such a unique idea I am pretty sure the thought ran through his head and decided against it.
price/convenience is why people make ghetto bongs like that. plus if you're bored it can be fun/time consuming. and getting high off something you build can be rewarding. good enough for me solid bong! go get ripped!

Ya sounds like you are But ya why not buy a cheap $100 or less bong instead of whipping out tons of cash on a Roor? Thats what i would do, but if you have the money go for it!
