Multi Strain Perpetual Auto-Photo Party

  1. Wrapped up the finish trim on the thunderfuck hempy in the wee hours of this morning. A few of the smaller buds got a bit dry, but she’ll be good. 114 g in jars. By my scratch math, ends up being about .85 g/watt. Not amazing, but satisfied. Bud is very dense and very dank. At some point I will get tired of this strain...but not yet. 2. Time for an update on the ladies. The furthest along gal in the flowering space is the Kilimanjaro sativa. She was 5 weeks since flip on Tuesday. Getting pretty and smells a lot like an old-school Mexican sativa. Seems to be done stretching and ends up about perfect size for my space. Pleasant surprise. 1CB9376E-C1C5-41BD-9D0E-DE583B924745.jpeg 910B1675-6C9C-4D2C-8A61-B2F419CA5894.jpeg

Next up is the fat banana. 4 weeks in on Sunday. If she earns another run, I will leave a couple more side branches. Although I don’t mind plants that are all top. She’s still stacking and filling out. A little sensitive to the HLG225 at this distance. Will dial it back a touch.

Next flowering lady (and last for the moment) is the amnesia lemon pie clone. She will be a week in tomorrow and is just starting her stretch for real since yesterday. 8B640FBA-7709-4C2D-B942-6A3F4EE773AF.jpeg 0086D072-D4CB-46B2-8848-1E265EE03108.jpeg

The on-deck circle is getting geared up. The Acapulco gold and rqs hulkberry are both about ready. Was going to run ag first, but the hulkberry is making her case and may cut the line. We’ll see how the next week looks on both.

The Barney’s wedding cake is finally coming along. Cut clones from her today. If they take, she will be next. After that will be either a fruity pebbles or a Nirvana K2, then the other. Also cut their tops to root today. We’ll see if they take and who grows faster over the next few weeks.

Thanks for checking out the garden. Cheers

  3. Dropped the Acapulco gold into the flowering space this morning. She could have a bit more size on her, but I can’t stand waiting any longer with the open space in the flowering box. She’s about 8 inches tall and manifolded into 8 tops. Looking forward to getting this one rolling. Let’s dance! 4DF092B4-A5F4-4AE3-AE43-9C298ED272CC.jpeg 2563A259-F372-4BCD-A132-65902E547DB0.jpeg

  4. Loving this little landrace Kilimanjaro sativa. She’s in week six. I’m guessing somewhere around the halfway point. Starting to stack on some flower and stinks just like my dorm room in college. Lovely strong sativa funk. E9161AA1-5EF7-49A3-B40F-8E8BE499B14B.jpeg

  5. Quick update on the ladies. The Kilimanjaro sativa is in mid week 6. Seems to be done stretching it is now just stacking flowers and swelling. Starting to put on some serious mass and is funky as hell. My whole basement reeks when I pull her out.

Next up is the fat banana medium hempy. She is 5 weeks since flip tomorrow. She is also steadily fattening up. Smells like over ripe bananas with a little sour fruity back end. She is a little nutrient sensitive, but otherwise has been stress-free.

This amnesia lemon pie medium hempy has been at the party for 2 weeks as of yesterday. Getting her stretch on and showing a few pistils.

Last up for now is the Barney’s Acapulco gold. Today is day 4 of 12-12. She is just starting to react to the change in lighting schedule. 16547AAF-B8EA-43F8-9C51-B288058CFA76.jpeg 63B9B050-FBCD-4C29-9DFA-1241336A7625.jpeg

That’s it for the flowering girls. This RQS Hulkberry is getting vegged up to her final size and I plan to flower her in 10 days’ish. CA5F5FD7-80E3-4768-8136-994E059B449A.jpeg Hopefully, the wedding cake that is vegging up behind her will be ready to go right about when the fat banana is ready to chop… At least that’s the plan. She has been a really finicky one.

Will post a veg update when I have a minute. Have 10 or so new strains in varying seedling states getting ready to try out. Should be a fun spring. Thanks for popping by. Cheers.

  6. Dropped this rqs hulkberry into the flowering space this morning. This is my first run with her and I like to shoot for 8-10” of veg so they don’t overshoot my height limitations and I can get a consistent idea of what to expect for stretch out of each strain. She’s a pretty one imo. Very slender and curvy, dare I say sexy leaves. 2CC273BC-D519-4D4E-8EF1-6CC462FBB974.jpeg 202A709C-8594-4A77-8151-8C314AD278DB.jpeg

The Kilimanjaro continues to stack and throw on bulk in earnest. She’s nute sensitive af and tolerates very little n. Hoping for some donkeys out of this one...or at least maybe some burros! F7915D41-983D-4AF9-B50C-30AB3E2DDD5D.jpeg

The fat banana is also forming up some pic-worthy nugs. Smells rad. Also nute sensitive and her tips have been pretty toasted. Such is life... F70E8DF4-061D-4DCC-B442-D2F17486F42E.jpeg

Thanks for checking out the garden. Cheers

  8. Happy Sunday gc. Time for an update on the ladies.

The girl that is furthest along is the Kilimanjaro. 2 days shy of 8 weeks. Still just stacking and swelling. Buds are solid, but not rock hard by any means. Not airy like some pure sativas I’ve grown/seen tho. She smells really dank with just a touch of fruitiness. Assume she still has a month or more, but we’ll see. 0DCDA363-08CC-4753-8FDA-A4B29ECB9363.jpeg 59A8CD5E-CB25-49D1-BBB4-3217E19DD809.jpeg

The fat banana is not as long in flower, but is much closer to ripe. 6 weeks since flip today. She smells increasingly sweet and sour, but more faintly banana-y. Done stacking and just swelling for the next few weeks until she wraps up. Starting to get some rails on her. Interested to see how big they go. Still has a few weeks I think, although I suppose she could just run quick, which would be ok too. Don’t really have any good fast running strains around. Fingers crossed for either ball bats or 7 week flowers. B1020099-2668-4C1A-BED1-4149465F85C1.jpeg 084BAAD2-DE1F-41CB-A7CC-1CFB5AB1E171.jpeg

Next up is the amnesia lemon pie cutting. She was 3 weeks in on Friday. Little funk coming from her hempy reservoir in the last day or two. Her root mass is pretty jammed for this container. Hit her with some SM-90 I still have around in her feed. we’ll see if that wards offs any evil. C9931D8E-E1BC-41F4-9272-492B114CCBCB.jpeg 82DD2C9C-3242-48C2-B6BF-68D372B3ED50.jpeg

Next is the Acapulco gold. She is 2 days shy of 2 weeks since flip. Getting her stretch on. EB238E1E-ABE7-4F90-943D-E781D4036678.jpeg 98B7B3C7-1345-4839-8CAA-D11875DC5403.jpeg

Last up for the flowering ladies in the new hulkberry. Looking a little disorganized after a bit of training this morning, but she is going hard. Just starting her stretch. 30517151-3FA8-4299-BB75-007190177458.jpeg 56BAF603-1E73-4B9E-9D11-789CA876BFB5.jpeg

  9. Time for a little veg update along with a few notables. Cleaned out the cabinets this morning and had all the babies in one place. Time for a little inventory.
    5C17DA4A-5CAB-4B67-8F2C-6E23645AC263.jpeg
Back row left to right is an expert chemdawg gorilla, exotic genetix krazy runtz, original kush fruity pebbles, and nirvana K2. Middle is nirvana skywalker OG, victory chocodope, solfire purple marmalade, ethos citradellic sunshine x3, ethos big D energy and Barney’s wedding cake. The dinks in the front are a seedsman banner freebie, WOS Brazil Amazonia, original harvest chocolope and an exotic genetix leprechaun trap. Still have some seedsman widow freebies and Nirvana cookies to try out and a pack of Cannarado hot tamales (sprouted one of her, but accidentally flipped the cup over and crushed her). Otherwise, this is basically at least one of about all the photo strains left in my seed stash. Once I get through trying these out, I’m thinking about running a full batch or two of autos in the main space. Have a pile of pretty good auto seeds and I don’t want them to get old.

I also took a few minutes to wrap up a little project I have been working on for the last couple weeks, which is a grow-lit workspace, which is now where my cloning gear is set up and is also where my moms and freshly potted clones live. Turns out a 65w 5000K led shop light gets the job done wonderfully for like 20 bucks. Actually had to raise it up because it was toasting my moms. 1A9FB97B-70CC-45D6-8395-8CF3A5CBAA92.jpeg

over in the flower space, there is like an indica vs sativa study going on. This fat banana is a hybrid, but is basically all Indica genes. She is right at 6 1/2 weeks and looks likely to finish in 8 at the outside. Swelling noticeably on the daily. She started flowering at about 8” tall and is about 20” today. 0FBA21BB-4433-463E-89D6-82BCFD9626B0.jpeg 2F8855D0-D0B5-434B-947B-E4FE2A5C5A50.jpeg

her neighbor is a 100% sativa non-hybrid and is right at nine weeks. Still has weeks to go. Her flower clusters are like hamster-sized and show no signs of slowing down. Started her flowering at about 2 1/2 inches tall right after training her into 4 tops. She’s at about 28” now. Way less organized than the Indica, but I think she’s gorgeous FB5FA6F0-5340-480F-89C5-C80049DE0C93.jpeg 703A1738-68DE-4743-BF8A-DFFD3FB320E8.jpeg

  10. That Barney's Farm Wedding Cake still being fussy? I just now took down the oldest of 3 I have running, the other 2 a few weeks off still. Never got her dialed, but got her functional right before 12/12.
Got 2 phenos it seems. One is most what I typically see from Wedding Cake at dispensaries, where its really more an earthy taste with a hint of cream (never not once had wedding cake that was anything like a dessert, more like a desert, but I love the strain), only this smells like someone chopped onions on it. Other 2 girls are a very grape smelling pheno that I can't wait to try, nothing like any WC I have seen yet.
Hope that little girl decided to give up the goods for you, I do think she has them to give, just a matter of her being a bit of a drama queen along the way.
Loving the journal, keep up the great work.
PS - My office smells like onions. Office closet is the best/worst possible place for a drying area!

  11. Yay, i found fromunda journal!!
    Looking good man.
Love it all as well as the perspectives.
    Awesome stuff.

  12. Think the WC is finally about sorted. I topped her again and am letting her grow back out into 8 tops. Had to slow her down so the ladies coming up behind her don't cause a traffic jam. She'll either get with the program or we will just roll again with her. Losing my patience a bit with her. Have about a dozen strains going behind her that are being cooperative. I have enough finicky ladies in my life as it is to pick up another one for fun!

  13. What’s up blades? Was out of town for a couple days. Always excited/concerned to see them after a few days apart. My girls in later flower are giving me some minor pH headaches. The water where I live is so hard that after running my RO system for a few months, it’s s coming out at about 150ppm. Takes tons of acid and time to keep the pH adjusted and the girls just don’t love it. Ordered new filters today. It takes me about four months to burn a set of filters. This is how my ladies remind me to get it done now!

    anyhow, on to the party...

The Kilimanjaro is still cruising along. 9 weeks tomorrow (I miscounted in my last post). Pistils starting to curl in and darken a bit, but she is still stacking and swelling like crazy. Starting to look like she has something less than a month to finish, but will have to watch her trichs and see when we start getting close. First time running a pure sativa indoors and I know they can be a bit of a pain to get finished up. Hopefully she continues to behave. C042D758-59A7-469E-A668-865944772C7A.jpeg 5C20D924-2148-46C7-BD1D-2DCB81FDB7BF.jpeg

Next up is the fat banana. 7 weeks yesterday. Getting ready to bring her in for a landing, but she’s still got a bit of swelling left to do. Smells strongly like over ripe fruit, just a touch of banana. Right now her smell is overpowering everything else in the room. She’s getting good and cloudy and I will probably take her as soon as she starts showing amber. I don’t like to let my indicas go to far. They make me sleepy. 9F8EC896-0269-4AD4-AA31-4A97EF100368.jpeg 2A85852C-6F2E-4788-8343-261DBDE468BF.jpeg 61E0FEEE-7300-42EC-AF09-96D473280014.jpeg

The amnesia lemon pie is 4 weeks 2 days in. Just about her halfway mark. Stacking right up. Not a huge yielder, but the flowers are loud and strong af and taste so much like Meyer lemon zest it is not even funny. she needs to move under the COB which is dimmed down a touch. The QB is a bit much for her and is starting to torch some upper leaves a bit. Anxious for her to get in some jars in a month and some change! 2B0052EC-2C61-4D79-9C14-0453E868F017.jpeg D774216C-74DC-4897-A9C6-C9D70EDCACD1.jpeg

next up is the Acapulco gold. This is my first dance with her and I feel like I hit the amount of side branching just about right. Expected more stretch from her, but that is why I like to do test runs with new girls and then fine tune them in the next runs if they earn return trips to the party. 6871F57C-20D6-46D5-A42B-4B86B5C8BCE7.jpeg 2E089076-AACD-4EC7-9361-ADF872AE1D3A.jpeg

Last up in the flowering space is the rqs hulkberry. 2 weeks from flip tomorrow. Also her first dance. More stretch than I expected, but nothing unmanageable. Giant ass fans. Really vigorous plant. Just showing some preflowers and starting to form up her tops. Will give her a haircut this week and clean her up a bit once she starts setting flowers. C455881B-9802-4916-8705-BDF836870E0D.jpeg 22AD451B-A5CD-4232-B49E-65F968A483E3.jpeg

current group shots... incidentally the first pic is my view each morning for meditation/yoga. I started it last year and found that it really helped my stress level. I recently moved it down to my grow space so I can commune with the girls. Sounds kind of dopey, but I find it immensely peaceful. Plus I am well past the age where I give any shits about what anyone thinks about how dopey something is that I do! AF57135B-8EA8-4575-ABCD-DCB15D1BD71D.jpeg 9122BBD6-3375-4FA7-8D9E-E96208D45E11.jpeg

The next girl in the rotation will be this nirvana K2. Up-potted her last week to get settled in so she is ready to rock when the fat banana wraps up. She is also a vigorous little shit. Looking forward to seeing what her story is. A303CAFF-3398-4FD3-AE72-BC71D70E59B5.jpeg 667D15E0-7CEA-4484-9ED9-ADE934FF895C.jpeg

There is a foot race going on between the fruity pebbles and the wedding cake that is finally sorted out (for now) for who goes next. My money is on pebbles, but I am always willing to see who wants it more! Thanks for checking out the garden. Cheers all.

this Kilimanjaro is days away from entering donkey territory. My money is on her to make it although she is starting to slow down her swell a bit or at least take a break. The wait is painstaking for this one in flowering, but I shouldn’t complain, I forget I started her at like three weeks from seed. Those tiny shoots are her 4 mains when she went into flower around the New Year. This plant we grow never ceases to fascinate and entertain me 02620EAE-DE17-47DE-A8A6-B7F8DE8CA026.jpeg

  15. Been looking through your journal here - really great stuff! You got nice plants all over the place. That sugary banana looks absolutely delicious :)

I used to grow a strain called Thunderfuck years ago that was fantastic. Can I ask where you got yours from?

Looking at your grow op here reminds me of when I had a perpetual going awhile back, that was so much fun. It was easy to try different stuff in that environment so I was always doing something crazy. I'll be reliving that vicariously through your journal here :p

  16. Thanks man. Appreciate the kind words. The thunderfuck I’ve been running is from royal queen. All clones from the same seed. Have a couple more, but just haven’t gotten around to popping them. Someday when I have some room (lol, whenever that happens) I’ll grow out the other couple and do a proper death match. She is super reliable though. Finishes 9 weeks on the nose and is a dense frost monster. The only other strain I have that I like the smoke as much is the amnesia lemon pie I have going from garden of green. She is just a little more finicky and not as high yield. You have to want it. The smoke is actually better imo. Hits harder and tastes amazing.

  17. Nice, I love a potent bud and Thunderfuck was one of those for me. I got those seeds from a breeder here on GC that was in Australia, dude used to win cannabis cups and shit. He passed some seeds out when he stabilizing that strain, looking for grower feedback. I don't know if the Thunderfuck I see around today is related to his, but I'd be real happy if he made it into some breeder company - really good dude.

Your amnesia lemon pie sounds interesting, every amnesia strain I have tried has been awesome :)

  18. Bloody hell. My amnesia lemon pie hempy is a sick girl. Have been sorting her out for a couple weeks. Her supposed light burn starting to look a lot like a copper deficiency. Of course she has plenty of copper and her pH is fine, but she clearly has root problems. I know she doesn’t drain as well as I want her to and I have been treating her roots with sm-90 and hydrogen peroxide. Still get some funk from her reservoir and I know there’s some bad shit doing now. Have been kind of expecting it to come home to roost at some point. The last bale of coco I got was garbage. All pith, no fibers. The shit sets like concrete after a couple months of watering. Fortunately, just ordered a new bale. If it is just as bad, I will have to cut it with a bunch with perlite. Also have a couple young ones in the same coco that are having some root issues. Thought it was a coincidence at first, but I definitely think not now. Her stretch sucked. Haven’t decided if I am going to let her finish or just replace her with one of the new girls for now and veg up a new one. Took a shot at treating her roots again today to see if I can sort her out. Otherwise, knowing myself the way I do, I am thinking she is toast.

  19. So, after sleeping on it, I am going to try and save this sick ALP as opposed to composting it and losing a month in flower. I drilled out her reservoir this morning and basically turned her bottom half into an air pot. As I suspected, some vile smelling shit drained out. Root zone shit show. Hit her hard with some SM-90 this morning and let her drain and dry thoroughly. Will hit her with peroxide this afternoon and see if we can’t get this shit dealt with. She is hurting, but she has enough flowers set that she will probably at least justify her space. She is fire or I would probably let her go. We will see how much of her canopy she loses before I can get her turned around. She is otherwise starting to frost up and looks OK. Undersized and ragged out, but OK. AE93CBD4-DA20-4FA6-91A2-7C4E357AD405.jpeg
That kids, if you have never seen one before, is a pretty classic copper deficiency. Easily mistaken for light burn, but frequently travels with root problems and looks, well, just like this. Never a dull moment! Cheers

  20. On the upside, since I know she is going to shed all of her big fans, she is getting ready to take up a lot less space. I am potting up another hempy to fill out the space. Already almost had enough room to add another plant and was on the fence, this convinces me to go ahead. Show must go on…
