Awesome tut man! Did everything step by step and came out with some pretty incredible product. (personally i think it lasts longer than the real beeline) Man am i glad i saw this thread, you really hit the nail on the head here!! +Rep
this is pretty cool man, good looks on the tutorial, I'm gunna try this myself, if it really works this well I vote for sticky
i went to my craft store yesterday so i could make some homemade beeline, but the block of beeswax was $23.00 so i opted out... i figured beeline would be cheaper at that point
what part did you not read from his post? if you buy that bar of bee's wax it will cost $ 23 atm. also that one brick of bee's wax will yield a shit ton of beeline. matter of fact I bought one of those beeswax breaks almost a year ago and I'm not even half way thru with it, and I've made 30 beeline batches prolly more but thats around number.
yea you dont understand man you pay 20 some odd bucks for that brick of bees wax but it will make you so, so, so, so much beeline.
This does not make any sense at ALL. Let me break it down for you if you cant do simple math Homemade beeline 1 Brick of Natural Beeswax $23.00 400 foot spool of organic Hemp Twine $5.00 (Here, half a brick will last you ATLEAST 400 feet of beeline) Store Bought Beeline 1 200 foot spool of beeline $20 Shipping (if bought online) atleast $5 So for $28 you get 400 feet of beeline and half of brick of beeswax left over for the next 400 feet you buy. Not to mention, after your done making the beeline you can pour out the wax from the pan, freeze it and re use it again. I will gladly pay the extra $3 for double the quantity and way more than double the quality. So please explain how you figured buying the beeline in the store would be cheaper? This thread seriously is a money saver. If you are buying beeline from headshops/online stores you are wasting your money. I vote for sticky
Awesome tutorial man, definitely gonna try this out soon. I love beeline, but I hate spending $4 each time I buy a small amount Thanks!
Just some tips from a candle maker... -I would get the unprocessed beeswax from a local beekeeper if you can. They're always at local farmers and flea markets here. The more natural, the better. -I highly recommend NOT doing this with a portable stove on the carpet. Wax can catch fire easily if it gets too hot, and carpet is very flammable. There is also a risk of knocking over the stove and pot. Put it up on a table of some sort to be safe. -Heat the wax gently until melted, and then turn on very low heat. The cooler you do this, the more wax will cling to the string. Some experimentation will help you get it just right. -To clean the pan, dump your extra wax into a heat-safe container. Take a paper towel and wipe out the pan while it is still hot. Now you'll be able to wash normally without residue. Unprocessed beeswax is food-safe, so you don't have to worry about using a different pan. I always recommend pans without non-stick, though. It scratches and flakes, and gets into your food. No bueno.
I dont worry about my carpet, I smoke so much hookah in my room Im soo used to using that stove on my carpet its a routine, but dont get me wrong I would have definately opt for doing this on a nice safe kitchen stove but it wasnt exactly an option for me to make a how to for making beeline in front of my anti-pot parents lol thanks for the advice though and thanks to everyone else for their positive replies Im really going for sticky whos with me? lol
Haha yea man, no worries at all. Trust me, before i found this thread i thought buying the spool of beeline was the best possible money saving option. But what beeline doesnt tell you, is that they are charging you way over double maybe even triple the price they are paying for beeswax and hemp twine. Yea, this may take a little work and time. But after you start to realize how much beeline you have, and have the possibility of making for the price you payed, everything starts to equal out. I made my first batch of this homemade beeline almost 2 months ago, and i have barely dented my first 400 foot spool of hemp twine. Not to mention, i still have well over half of my beeswax brick left with the frozen left overs. If you are a daily beeline user and are sick and tired of paying $4 for a little pack or $25 for a 200 foot spool, just go out and try this one day. You will definitely not regret it.
bumping this so people can find it this is a really nice guide well written im going to have to try this out sometime
there's alot of people asking for this to be stickied and it helps people. this is one of the best write ups I've seen on here and it NEEDS TO BE STICKIED. for crying out loud.. this is going to help people smoke healthier and maybe get some beeline were there is none.
