bump, so more people can get an alternative to butane. Just made my own batch, and the difference is amazing! However, i would recommend a local mom and pop craft/hippie store if you have some, i got a bunch of organic beeswax for 2 dollars, and 200 feet of thin organic hemp rope for 3.99! Michaels taxes and i dont think carries organic. I may make a more detailed tutorial and try and have it stickied.
ive made it at home too, stuffs amazing. i didnt soak mine for nearly as long as you did and they seemed to come out alright. and a really good way of doing it is if you use a double boiler so that way steam is heating the wax not straight flames that way you wont burn the wax. Also i learned that beeswax goes a very VERY long way, you dont need a big piece to coat a good amount of hemp
