  1. So i made this about a week ago and went to dip into it again after sitting around my house but noticed these white balls in it. Is this normal and ok or should i throw away? Its smells the same but this is my first time making so i have no idea. Also do i store in fridge or cabinet? 20220223_181420.jpg 20220223_181325.jpg 20220223_181305.jpg 20220223_181251.jpg

  2. Without posting the recipe of what you did we have no way to guess what we are looking at.

  4. OK here is my Recipe.

Decarb the Cannabis 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered.
This must be done first to activate the THC-a and turn it to THC.
Roasting Buds on a cookie sheet.

    Grind Decarboxylated Cannabis to dust
Mix with just enough Coconut oil to make paste.
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Done

Your not doing what I am.

  5. Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered.

    5 grams of Bud Dust
    1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin
    Combine
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Done

    1 drop = 1mg

  6. You could be right at 76 degrees where Coconut oil changes from liquid to solid. Try heating or chilling it to see if it completes the change.

Since you new at making oil I'll throw in a couple of pointers. While Coconut oil hits your system fastest it is also an excellent natural Laxative as well as being very high in saturated fat. Both good reasons to limit your intake. Make strong oils and use just a few drops of it rather then weak oil and teaspoons per dose. You don't need any more oil then just enough to wet the bud dust and make it into paste. Think in terms of Medicine and not Food recipes.

  8. I would heat the oil and add some water. Let the mixture cool down and separate the oil (on top) from the water layer.

  9. List how much oil and how much cannabis was used and we can figure out a dose / serving amount for what you have made.

  10. Water just contaminates the oil and makes it go rancid faster.
Water interferes with oil extraction and makes the oil useless for filling capsules with.
Even the smallest water content will met the capsules destroying all your work.
And never add Lecithin if you've used water.
We've learned so much since that water / butter mess of 1965.

  11. no man, the water and oil separate. That's what she sees, something left over in the aqueous phase.
You still need to separate the oil/water layers. That's the way steam distillation works.

but yea, whatever, I don't want to argue.

  12. moreover, OP doesn't really need to add water, but it will make the separation easier.

  13. Let's see what she's done. If it's just pure oil changing state she needs do nothing.
    Eat some. :)

  14. I agree. That maybe just some solidification of the oil. I re-read and am not sure if this was placed in the fridge. But normally, with coco-extracts, I add water during the process. Gets rid of some of the solubles and dust.
btw Brass, I am still on that nice method you showed me with the reciprocal saw. I think I will do this for CBD extracts as well, but I will prob use cocoa butter next time.

  15. Ok so i do not need a recipe or anything i have that which worked perfect. After a week of sitting around on my shelf i grabbed my oil to make some more gummies and noticed these white globs of whatever in my oil and just need to know if its mold or normal? I decarbed my bud then used the mason jar method to infuse my oil then made some gummies then sat my oil on the shelf and now looked like the pics. Normal or no? Is all i honestly need to know it doesn't smell different or anything either.

  16. And no i never placed in the fridge until someone told me to a few hours ago in case it is still good. I literally used the mason jar method to infuse, let it cool, made some gummies then sat on the shelf where itd be dark then grabbed today and it looked like the pics.

  17. Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature. Is it a solid? Or is it solidifying in the bottom? If you fridge it, then it will solidify and may become homogenous.

  18. I like tinctures for gummies coconut oil for hash caps or edibles. Good luck with your recipe

  19. Yea im working on making tincture but my recipe takes 21 days of sitting before ready so been using the oil which works great. Im just not sure why my coconut oil thats been infused has these little white lumps in it now but the stuff thats not infused sat on the same shelf and doesn't.

  20. So yea its been at room temperature but i dont control my heat so they like to keep it pretty warm. It all stayed pretty much liquid except those little white clumps forming all in it. Someone did tell me yesterday to put it in the fridge in case its still good so i did but i have no idea how to tell if its bad and thats mold or if its ok and thats normal. I put a total of 21 grams in this stuff of two different strains so dont wanna throw it out if its not bad because its actually quite powerful oil just not worth being sick or dying over lol.
