How do you smoke a bong with a downstem that has a nonremovable bowl peice? I recently obtained a bong it has a bowl peice that is connected to the downstem, so the bowl will not remove to complete your hit, and when you remove the down stem to complete your hit, it wont bubble? How do you smoke out of this?
My buddy had a peice like this, honestly im not a huge fan. You pull the bowl as well as the down stem after lighting. I suggest pulling hard but over all im not a huge fan of this system, glass on glass is always my recommend.

The downstem creates your bubbles, lifting it up renders it useless that it why it won't bubble. It ain't meant to be lifted. Either u have a carb hole somewhere or your bowl is resin glued on to the downstem, clean it up and it will come apart? If the bowl/downstem doesn't pull apart or you don't have a carb hole your piece it is really useless for its poor functionability. I can see why it was given to you .
Can't you just measure the downstem it has now, and buy a normal one of the same size and a bowl to go with it? the one in your pictures has a SG joint on it, so it looks like you can upgrade for a couple of bucks.
Jeeeezus.... its not that hard people.... cheap bongs have a one piece bowl/downstem - just lift it slightly so that some air gets past the joint and clear the bong.... its not rocket science. Yes, they are meant to be lifted - bubbling straight air thru the water doesn't do much for you.
I have this type too you just fill the water level a bit higher than you would normally and then lift the bowl piece up but don’t remove it from the hole completely so the air flow doesn’t disrupt the water / stem contact
Finish your hits or DO SMALLER HITS. When U finish the bowl & the ashes are sucked into the bongwater The air now enters the bowl/stem as if carberated. Too big a bowl & U can't clear the smoke no real need to pull a 1 piece stem, this way.
