Hello! I just recently started smoking herbs, and my bong is quite cheap,about 8$ or so... Now I am going to spend a little bit more for tools and I need experienced smokers help. I found a nice bong with 3 percolators which is about 26 inch tall. What do you think? Is 3 percs too many and unnecesary? I think this might be too huge and a pain when it comes to cleaning. But smoke must be smooth. If single perc is enough then I'll look for a cheaper one. Help!
It will probably have a lot of drag, and if the percs are closed then that will cause even more drag. 2 percs is good enough.
you just started? well, i myself would get the biggest my lungs can handle for now more percs the better, but they add more drag, just get something you can clear.
i would get a single perc with an ashcatcher, keeps your bong clean and give you more options since if you dont have to use the AC you can switch it with a bowl if you want a different hit. Cycling the smoke more than 3 times filters out too much thc imo, really only one mabey 2 chambers of water are ideal.
Yeah you dont need two - three percs, and especially if youre looking at cheaper glass, those ones with a lot of percs A LOT of drag. One perc is probably good enough and like ^^ said, get an a/c too. And are you sure about 26"... Thats QUITE a huge bong. 18" single perc would prob suit your needs, but idk, upto you I guess.
Honestly a triple perc tube is not the best choice for a daily driver. Find something that isn't too huge, that has a perc, and you can always add an inline or an AC to it if you want some more filtration.
i would personally just get a bong with a nice diffuser, percs are a huge bitch to keep clean speically, domes. I have an ads double perc and as much as i like it i prefer my straight tube, too many percs takes the taste away to me and you don't have to suck like a 5 dollar whore to clear it Nome sayiing. ashcatchers are legit as well
ya your gona have a lot of drag with 3.. if you want percs the most id say is somethin like a 7/13 or a 4/8 anything more than a double chamber and its overkill..
Thanks all. I am surprised to read many recommendations of sigle perc and 3 percs is overkill. Does this mean that 1st and 2nd percs cools the smoke to close to room temp and third perc has no job to do?
Dont think of it that way, you dont even need a perc, get a diffy downstem, an a/c, no perc and u have a solid setup. If you're bent on percs, Id just go with one. Theyre a bitch to clean and unless you're spending a good amount of money on a tube with a proper perc like luke wilson, toro etc, then I wouldn't even bother with percs. So one is more than enough.
Hey guy, if you still looking for ways to smooth out your tokes. Use diffuser beads or a carbon filter.
