I used Mahogany which is a hardwood so i know its safe to smoke out of. But anyway i drilled the bowl of the pipe then i drilled the stem after that i took some pencil and planned out the rest, cut off the excess wood sanded it down and i was done. All i needed was the mouthpiece and for which is took a small metal tube about 2 inches long and i flatted it out into a small half inch nub. I then put some electrical tape on it to tighten it up and jammed it in the stem and wallah!!!! i was done.
I havent hit it yet i just sanded it down with some FINE sand paper and im getting ready to gloss it tommorow so it shall be shiny.
How fine was the sandpaper? And if you used 600 - 1000 grid it will be shiny and you won't have to worry about glossing it
Nice looking pipes. Congrats on your efforts. Here is a nice read that you may enjoy. How do I cure my pipe?

Hey guys i just added gloss to the pipe today and im going to give it a day to dry and i read on the can of gloss it said to apply 2 coats or more if desired so i might have to put an extra coat on depending on how smooth it feels.
