This is my first homemade wood piece, Its not down yet have to finish drilling, sanding, and fix the bowl pretty proud of it Edit- how do i add the pic lol
Post a pick with is sanded and nice and shit look cool but glass is always nice but homemade shit id fun
I want to learn how to glass blow(?) (or is it 'blow glass'?) but i dont have them money yet, im always up for learning new things
Cut it off a tree in my backyard, it wasnt even hard to make and the wood is free i dont know why people like use 2x4s there are some many chemicals in them
i gave it more of a shape i still have to finish drilling the mouth piece to the bowl but dont feel like doing that right now because its smells when i drill it lol
It really didnt it was my first one, just wanted to get a feel, i used a razor, some tool for ceramics and a drill. plus i wanted to see if the wood i was using was anygood, since i dont know what kind of tree it is
hate to burst your bubble but some wood when burnt releases toxic gas and resin's you wouldn't want to be inhaling. Would you die? probably not but it still isn't healthy. just be safe, and maybe look up a tutorial on wooden pipe making and the ideal materials.
If you want a good model to base your piece off of, this was the first piece i made before i started getting into glass blowing and whatnot.
Hell yeah man looks like you got yourself a functional, quality home made right there! I don't really enjoy the taste of a wooden piece but I commend your effort that went into this piece
When i first began i took lessons in high school, for 20 dollars an hour. Now that i'm in a senior in college i have access to new resources and not too far from my dorm there is a local cottage type factory that lets me use their set up for a fee of course. I'd imagine the set up that i'm accustomed to using cost close to 20 grand give or take, but you can blow with very little to no money, the more mechanism available the easier it is to craft is all. Friends of mine have created masterpieces right in there home with a basic acetylene torch and some glass clamps using pretty much no money other than the torch which he already had.
