I was experimenting, and remembered that I had a heat tool in the craft room. I loaded (but did not tamp down) a whip, turned on the tool and aimed it down at the bowl. I was able to see the herb as I applied the heat, there was no warm up time necessary, and the whole thing would cost well under $50. The airflow through the herb was perfect (heat tools provide very little air movement so don't worry about blowing it around) so I didn't need to stir or anything, just keep the tip of the heat tool at a moderate distance (taste the vape, see the herb darken but not blacken). Probably work for most good glassware, not just whips. YMMV, but its a very inexpensive way to try out vaporizing. Tyg
was it a soldering iron? if so please remove the lead tip so that only the ceramic heating element is exposed.
Not a soldering iron....a heat gun. This is used for paint removal and crafts projects like embossing. I vape 95% of the time, and wanted something that heated up faster than the box vaporizer and wasn't as fussy as the handheld (Vapir One?) and more effective than the MFLB. I also like experimenting!
