So here's the deal. My buddy moved the other day, and when we were cleaning out his apartment he gives me his old bong. Only problem? No stem/slider/bowl. I need to know what i can do to make a really good bowl and stem. And before "Go to a headshop", I can't. I am old enough, there just isn't one in the town I live in anymore. So, Tips?
socket and vinyl tubing, if you really can't get to a headshop. hopefully there's a home depot/lowes/some other big "home repair" chain by you. your local hardware store might have them too. I was personally using 1/2" vinyl tubing (diameter) and a 1/2" socket when I had a ghettorigged piece.
Whatever plastic you use connected to that socket it is gonna melt and give of fumes you really do not want to inhale, get glass online ?
this is incorrect. the socket will go inside the opening of the vinyl tubing. the smoke is going to be going through water within seconds. as long as you don't use the piece at a party and there's 30 people in a row milking the bong, there will be no fumes released. I wish people would stop spouting this bullshit - as long as you are safe and not a total idiot, you won't melt the tubing.
Vash is correct. You won't inhale fumes from plastic unless like 6 ppl are milking it in a row or you just hold the lighter near the socket to long..smoke safely & smart.
