ive been selling them to close friends for awhile, however its not really cheap but relatively cheap compared to glass. each plastic bottle is about $2 i used 5 lots of SS around $16 those rubber gaskets are about a $1 each, i have 10 + a few more things so for something like the showerhead to perc would be like $50-60 but i have several models ranging down to about $20
Oh.. I wouldn't have expected prices so high for plastic that would've been thrown in the trash... what models do you have for $20?
You know, whoever you're buying those plastic bottles from is really ripping you off. They're only worth a nickel in most states, so you're getting screwed in the ass hard and then screwing other people in the ass by upping your prices because if it.
well I buy my beverages (bottles) at stores new, not dirty from hobos.... like i said in my first post i dont care to have this kind of shit in my thread... im absolutely positive that most of my pieces will smoke better than anything you can buy for an eqaul price at a headshop, having smoked both types... where as all you have not. regardless im not trying to convert the undead masses just inform those with open minds.
Well as long as you're drinking whatever's in the bottle and not pouring it into another container to offer to customers with their bong, then you're still personally benefitting from the full cost of the drink and can't morally charge your customers for it. Plus, it wouldn't matter if you got them from a hobo because you should be sterilising the bottles regardless if you're selling them. It's fine if you want to charge extra for production or branding or something, but it looks bad if you try to justify it the way you're trying to justify it. Just tell people they're well made so you're charging more. lol Just trying to help is all...
your just trying to be a dick... and actually i dont drink them all the time, less than 50% even, i take a sip and dump them out, i dont care for any of the energy shots, sobes, or... i drink the waters thats about it... so my justification was a generalized price on what it cost me to buy a bottle because i don't have a supply of them nor do i regularly drink them. And as i haven't sold one to anybody i haven't known so your whole point is irrational. somebody asked for a price and i gave one... actually i gave more via a basic breakdown because i knew it would be met with some resistance and what do you know...
I'm not trying to be a dick at all. It's more irrational to try charging $2+ a piece for parts that are worth 10 cents max than to just outright tell someone you charge that much just because you put a lot of effort into making them well. That's all I'm saying. I'm not resisting your prices; they're fine. I just don't think you should tell people you're overcharging them on one part of it. It's poor marketing. I'm just saying this for if you were to sell them so people would actually take you seriously because they won't if you're going to tell them that. I'm just offering a bit of constructive criticism.... hope it helps.
how to make one of my bowls: materials you need 1/2" 6 point 1/4" drive socket zebra f-301 pen or pencil (no gel ink) jb weld first drill out the the bottom with a 5/16" drill bit and ovalize it a bit then take out the SS tube from the pen then tap the tube into the socket (dosent damage the tube if you use a bolt to distribute the force) and finally cut to lenth and sand (then jb weld around the base) either use a 1/2" pipe screen or make your own (i use ss mesh)
As a (un)certified bongineer I approve of this thread. Sub'd. I love homemades and you have inspired me to make my future builds complex. I'll post them if I make them. You should make a youtube channel to post milks and build tuts on.
Quick question: Are your homemades with or without a carb? In some of the pictures it looks like the bowl is out but I can't tell if thats cause you hadn't JB welded it in yet or if it was of the slider type. Tips on how to make a slider (carbless) would be appreciated. Usually I opt for the carbs because I find it hard to get a decent seal with the slider to the downstem so I just end up gluing/jb welding them together. Thanks
there all carbless. every piece i make uses the same bowls that slide of to clear... the zebra ss tube and any 5/16" tube make a seal good enough (doesnt need to be airtight really if using a female bowl and male stem as i do, the flow of air makes up for this)
