im making a pipe too, out of maple but i accidentally drilled to far through for the stem and it came out through the other end. do you think this is bad or will it be fine and function as a shotty. and also did you treat the bowlhead with anything to keep it from burning? if so wat did you use
That's a killer piece, and i don't think it's as easy as matt said his was, that thing looks awesome.
I totally want to make a redwood pipe, but I live in Chicago so I don't see that happening anytime soon
Very nice piece its very clean looking and has a massive bowl. No doubt in my mind that it rips with the best of them. Also seeing as you made it adds to the sentimental value. Enjoy it, i also love the name pot luck.
Yeah you should be able to use it as a steamroller type deal. as for the bowl treatment i didn't do anything but i've heard that its good to cure it in some way. some say smokeing some good tobacco out of it will do the trick, i dont smoke tobacco so i just smoke a lot of good herb instead.
Redwood might not be the best for a pipe because it is a softwood. I think it would be better to use a hardwood so the bowl doesn't burn so much. but then again i might not know what im talking about.
